wtf happened to Beno?

I believe he has a back injury. Last I heard (at the game the other night) that with the season almost over, he would rather let it heal well than take a chance on it. So, he could be gone for the season.
As for how that affects the offer we make...who knows? I do believe we will make an offer and he will strongly consider staying. He got a chance to start here and with Bibby gone, he'll probably remain our first option at PG.

dude this guy is trouble. yes he's got game but NO more lame contracts for players that aren't going to be the future of this team. he gets a 2 year deal for under the way under the mle with the 3rd year being a team option.
this guys a joke with the injurys. thats why the spurs let him go and his careers been a bust till a team as desperate as us played him. Greg Pop said it
best in that he (Beno) had plenty of game, but is soft and unwilling to play if he's even just a little dinged up. nothing wrong with missing time with injurys but beno is a wuss straight up. thats what Greg Pop was saying, and being a wuss doesnt fit into most teams systems.
also Beno is a good PG, but by no means great. he has a long way to go before he's anymore than just good. Can he even drive to the right? hes like zoolander

Maybe he is injury prone, or maybe it's a fact of trying to do too much to prove himself to Sacramento, thus pushing when he probably shouldn't. This is his first year playing so many minutes; it's kinda like when the rookies fade late in the year. Who knows. In reality, I'd easily take Beno over quite a few starting PGs.

Bad timing for Beno -- I am sure he does not want to return and reinjure the back to really scare away suitors, or return and play hobbled, put up bad numbers, and drive down his value. But a month ago he was turning into a pretty hot commodity around the league, and now with this injury he is both being forgotten a little bit, and reraising concerns about his durability (was always injured in San Antonio). Ironically it may help us to make a run at him this offseason, although I still doubt we can get away below the MLE.
I don’t want him to rush back, whether he’s with us next year or not. He needs to fully heal that back.
I’d like to give him a contract for a couple years until Brad’s, Kenny and SAR’s contract come off the books or/and also add a team option after that. We can then evaluate Beno and see if we should keep going with him or not.

Well, how about we fake some x-rays that show he has problems with his knees? 
Not sure if that would fly, he's only 19 yrs old and had a pretty decent season. lol Maybe the Maloofs can use their Vegas pull and give all those teams free rooms at the Palms...or better yet, free rooms at the Mustang Ranch.
