Note: It was Bavetta who didn't make the call at the end of the game, so no review was possible. Phillips made the call at the end of the first half, and Bavetta took about three minutes reviewing it. He did NOT like that it had been called to begin with...

Why wasn't that last attempted shot reviewed? Brad was fouled from behind right before time was out but that isn't even the point. What was the urgency to say the game was over?

That's not reviewable -- they can't come in after the game and call a foul that wasn't called before.

And ........ I didn't want to insinuate anything. or did I?

rediculous no calls and one-sided goal-tending calling for the whole game. Should've been a 10 pt victory for the kings if you take out Nocioni's excellent 3 pt play, and the utterly rediculous goal tending calls and no calls.

although, with the way the Kings handled a few possessions at the end, and the terrible "lets have Salmons dribble in the middle of the court, with no iso set, no screens, no one back cutting" second to last play, or the even worse called actual last play, I guess they deserve the loss.

???

Not sure what you're referring to. I was making a general statement, nothing more. Bavetta does NOT like game-saving calls. I've seen him "no call" a lot of situations like this.

its amazing how dumb that Salmons play was...i still cant even get my mind around it.

I'll take a half court shot over that

Thought we had the right player to try the iso, right play called, but that is a huge weakness with John -- when he sinks into score mode his head is never up. He's not a dual threat type guy that instantly changes form trying to shoot to trying to pass. He was tryign to shoot, so he put his head down and by the time he realized he was in troouble, it was too late.

i have two complaints about tonights game

1) Theus made me mad tonight.. the 'last play' call was so obvious of course the bulls are going to know whats coming.. iso to our best iso player.. why not give it to brad and have the other players MOVE .. everyone friggin stands there and watches salmons , including the defense so they can help when he gets into the paint.. i hate that last play.

2) tonight watching the celtics beat the pistons doc substituted offense for defense and vice versa many times in the last 3 mins.. and i dont even thing doc is a great coach but cmon reggie... we cant get a rebound in the last two mins.. put jwill in for brad on d then put brad back in on O ... ugh

good effort for the most part but i think we would have won if reggie did those two things,

I think Theus made the right call, but Salmons - as Brickie pointed out - didn't have his head up and didn't see two wide-open players until it was too late. He had stumbled, traveled and turned it over.

Despite the lose im impressed on how the kings are playing. I know loosing is tough but a team who shows effort and stays close in games shows you that we shouldn't be dissapointed. We've got a good team and it will just get better as the season progress...

Officials rarely like to call a foul at the buzzer of a game and have it decided at the line.
As a matter of fact, that is one of the unwritten rules. I understand that. Since the one referee was caught betting I think they should junk this "unwritten rule" stuff because it makes the calls and non calls suspicious.

I hope some point before the season starts that referees clue in the teams not only the rules but also the unwritten rules.

But who can say the call at the end of the 1st half wasn't the game decider? Game deciders are called at any time in the game and not simply the last shot. That's why that unwritten rule sucks. It's not logical. I can say the game was decided at the free throw line at the end of the first half.

Sour grapes? Yes. I'm a Kings fan.

That's cool...hopefully everyone can stay healthy long enough until we get Ron back in a couple weeks...so we can actually see what this team can do with all its starters.
You already know what will happen. Opponents PGs will be killing us, Bibby will be in a slump, Kevin won't get enough touches, Artest will hog the ball, Brad will become ineffective, Bench might get better but how much will it play ? QD and Jones will join KT. Justin and Spencer will play much less and the record will still stay below .500
