[PHX/LAL] "It takes five, baby..."

Kobe vs the Suns. Been there, seen that.

Only thing I'm looking forward to in this series is seeing if Kobe can break MJ's playoff scoring record. LA is going to be toast in 4 games, 5 tops. They're worse than they were last year and Phoenix is better.

Nash's 3 ties the game for Phx, after they were down about 12. Way to get back in the game, Phoenix!!

a little off topic here, but am I the only one really sick and tired of the ABC's "NBA theme song".... that's pussycat dolls, right?

I predicted Phoenix in five and I am sticking with it. The Lakers will at least take one at home. I hate the ABC theme song and miss the NBA NBA coverage. Used to love the theme song they used to have by John Tesh. I actually have that theme song on my ipod.

NBC's NBA coverage, with the exception of that catchy tune by John Tesh, was inferior in every way, in my opinion. I did like the more generic theme they did two years ago, but the ones where, in the past two seasons, they've had it sung by pop stars haven't been any good, because the performers are lousy.

With respect to the series itself, what I really liked about the way Game 1 went down was the way that Phoenix apparently has no regard for anybody on the Lakers other than Kobe Bryant; it looks like they're willing to send as many as four guys at Bryant, and they're just going to dare somebody else on the Lakers to beat them... which suits me fine...

NBC had better commentators, better intros, and were infinitely better at creating hype for a game than ABC. IMO, of course.

I'll strongly disagree. Mike Breen is better than anyone NBC ever had not named Marv Albert, in my opinion; I also prefer Hubie Brown, Mike Breen and Mark Jackson to the guys NBC had; Bob Costas just didn't work for me on any level... Guys like Costas are good at emoting, but I don't give a spit about emotion; I want to hear good analysis, and I think that ABC has much better analysts than NBC ever had.

I didn't think anything of their intros, and hype means less than nothing to me as a person who didn't need the game to be hyped in order to be interested in it.

I'll co-sign on TNT, though; their stuff is top-notch. Even Barkley fills his role well.

I don't like ABC's camera angle too. Particularly hate the one like you're sitting right behind the commentary table, can't see jack with that angle.

I could've tolarate that damn song if ABC didn't play half the song every other commercial break.

But after all, Lakers lost is all I care about. :)

Man, I'm disagreeing with everyone today; I LOVE that court-level angle... it's like you've got front-row seats!
The one advantage to watching the game on TV instead of being in the arena is that you have a better view. The courtside angle is innovative, and if it's used judiciously, it's a good thing. But I don't like watching long stretches of the game from that angle. Not when there's a better one available.

I watched this game and Kobe shot the Lakers right out of this one in the fourth with numerous circus shots and jumpers while double-teamed. He was not cold, he just was making terrible decisions. Fun to see; made my day.

Yes, that's the Pussycat Dolls who in the regular season promos were wearing...gag... Lakers jerseys.
... As well as Pistons jerseys... and Suns jerseys... and Cavs jerseys... and Heat jerseys... and Mavs jerseys. Let's not act like all six of them were dressed up like they wanted to be Laker girls.

I gotta agree. I have a friend, a life-long Laker fan, who had to work and missed the game. When he saw the score, he called me to ask about the game. His first question was whether or not Kobe had forgotten about "TEAM" and tried to do it all himself... When I said that was it, he said he didn't need to know anything more. And he sighed... Life isn't always easy for Laker fans, either.

OK, the LEAD singer was wearing the Lakers jersey and was in every shot and you could barely see the other. My apologies.

Well, there is some justice in the world afterall. :D

Yeah, Kobe was something like 1 for 10 in the 4th quarter. I loved it.
