Both teams played hard my man.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
How about a good omen for a change. Exactly 2 years ago - on December 21st 2004 Kings beat Wizards at ARCO 104 - 93 to improve to 17-7 for the season. Kings played short rotation and the bench scored only 6 total points. It was the time when we were starting to deline. Pedja lead the Kings with 26/6, Bibby had 24/3/4/2st, Webber had 20/10/6/2st, Brad had 19/8/4/2st and DC had 9/4/9/3st. Bench was almost non existant.

"I really like being out there on the court," Bibby said. "I can't do anything from the bench. I feel I need to be out there to get things done."

"After the first one I kind of got going. The second one, ending the quarter, I kind of got lucky," said Stojakovic. "Overall it was a good game."

"Fortunately we made some good plays down the stretch," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "Brad was terrific, especially in the fourth. He got his hand on so many balls and came up with offensive rebounds when we needed to get the ball back."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kings started yet another losing streak by dropping another 2 straight @ ARCO which makes it 10-13 overall. Kings have lost 8 out of the last 10. We are barely over .500 at home and our road record is sad. Despite losing a lot Kings are still in decent overall position because there are a bunch of teams that suck as well. Maybe we can start a winning streak by beating Wizards and the obviously Sixers. Since Denver is shorthanded and we own Clippers and Warriors suck on the road it would make a great 5 game winning streak. Sweet dreams
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to numbers (and they never lie) Mike Bibby has been our most consistant player this season. His 36% shooting is # 336 in the league so far and since he is taking over 17 shots per game You could argue that he is dead last since no other player ranked after him has any significance in terms of FGA. His defense has alos been consistant night in and night out. Again - I didn't say that he was any good - I just said that he was consistant. We know what to expect from him these days and it rarely fails. Sad and pathetic at the same time but You have got to feel sorry here because he looks like a little boy playing with big kids. Just horrible.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Add to this that Brad and Ron are shooting below 40% and You have to ask Yourself - how the hell did we win 10 games so far. I don't know either. Oh wait - Kevin Martin, worse opponents and lots of luck. It is very hard to get so many players on one team playing so poorly at the same time but then again - when it comes to sucking Kings are overachievers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Muss wil age quickly despite escaping reality with the help of his best frende Johnny Walker and Jim Beam. As a coach he is acustomed to losing and the team that he has especially the way that it is performing will help his career record to get worse. He isn't halping much in terms of having a plan or a clue. His rotations are as set as the gas prices today. He manages to create miss matches that actually favor our opponents. Tonight - he put Corliss on Dirk. That turned out well. There are more but I am just tired of this in general. There is no consistancy in anything that we are doing these days. Players look lost and not really ready to play. That is why we are mostly behing after one quarter and have to play catch up which rately works. We don't know who the first option is and it doesn't really matter because only Kevin has played well enough for it but that won't happen for many reasons so what is the point. 59 games left in the season and that is not a good thing anymore
------------------------------------------------------------------------
So the verdict is in. The idiots whi fought at MSG will have to pay. Some more and some less. Is a punch really worth over million dollars ? Ask Mello for more details. Stupid. Especially in the Westen conference where every game is important. As a teams best player - shouldn't You be smart enough to know that You just have to stay away from things like this. Don't the Nuggets have enough scrubs who can throw a punch. He apologized but who really cares ? It is much easier to say "I am sorry" than to do the right thing these days. "Sorry" just doesn't cut it in such a situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wizards game is on TNT ben though I can't figure why and who would watch it on the East coast. Will be hard to watch. First expect the first game to go into let's say - tripple overtime so that we can miss another half. Then expect Barkley to continue to "abuse" us and he will probably have support there because we earned it. We can hope that Kerr won't be there but I have a feeling... Man - we need a home win in a worst possible way.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mavs own us bad. Only place where we can beat them thesedays is ESPN classic or Hardwood classic. They have a better team. They had a great start and we never got closer than 6 pts. Looked like Mavs did not play as hard as they could. They played as much as they needed. We just didn't have it again. We shot horribly, defended even worse and had no back court. I hate seeing Cuban enjoying a game at ARCO but not much we can do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM goes to Buckner. Why the hell not ?
LW-VC award went to Salmons. Just not his night.
JHA award is in possesion of Mike Bibby right now. The numbers as bad as they are - aren't really showing how bad Mike has been playing these days.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wizards are next and we have to win a home game at some point. Arenas scored 60 and he wasn't even guarded by Bibby. Scary. Wizards aren't a bad team. They have 3 players that do everything for them and if we can reasonably contain them - we can win. We used to own the East @ ARCO. What the hell happened to that ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - make a shot please !
Ron - property of Josh Howard
Brad - at least someone who is showing progress
SAR - stop shooting jumpers and eat something so You can at least hit a rim
Kevin - get well soon
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
KT - he is the "best" player and the team can't be any good because of that. Still got to respect the effort
Salmons - cooled down a bit. He can only be a starter on a bad team.
rest - who cares ? (mateen deserves better)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Muss - will age quickly
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wizards are dangerous. Arenas, Jamison and Butler will cause problems but there is not much else which could go either way considering the potential for a TDM festival. Hayes is my favorite. Maybe we even get to see Darius. LW-VC award - Bibby is the favorite again. Please, win - please !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Almost forgot - Merry Christmas to everyone.

Brad had 19/8/4/2st

"Fortunately we made some good plays down the stretch," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "Brad was terrific, especially in the fourth. He got his hand on so many balls and came up with offensive rebounds when we needed to get the ball back."

What happened to this Brad?

Well, we are paying the price of mortgaging our future in an effort to win the title during the glory years. During that time, we had a veteran roster, that made winning a habit. However, we paid for that by giving up draft picks for 2 years (02, 03), letting our 01 pick (GW) walk away for nothing, and trading 2000 pick Hido (plus Scot, the kind of banger we all crave for now), for Brad.

None of those moves were bad at that time. We had eyes on the big prize, and could have achieved it (multiple times with any luck). Trouble with bad luck is that it comes in droves. So not only were we stuck with biased refs and unfortunate bounces, we were also beset with injuries. Suddenly, our roster was old and injured, was traded away/not resigned, and the result is not pretty.

What an excellent short synopsis. Well done...and true.

The observation about KT being the best player and THAT being bad news, while funny misses the point of wat was one of the only silver linings from last nights debacle. MUSS PLAYED BIG BOY BALL and when he did the Kings held their own. The Line up with Brad, SAR, K9, Artest and (Salmons or Bibby take your pick since they were equally ineffective) Looked good. Sure they had spacing problems, and were not 'clicking' but I also bet they have not worked out with that combo much eatier. It allowed Ron to muscle in on runts at the 2 who he did NOT give up speed to, Kenny was in his element against SF's and it showed, SAR could have played better but considering he was up against Dirk no complaint and Brad forced the Galoot brothers Jop and Dampier to come out of the paint and not only did he make thm pay when they did not by forcing them out of position they BOTH were in fould trouble in the end.

Im not suggesting benching Kevin or Mike here but playing that BIG line up more might be the ticket agains a lot of line ups.

No Webber, no Pedja, no DC and pretty much no Bibby will affect Your game a bit
Brad cant be the #1 big man on ANY team...it just doesnt work that way with him. He needs a guy like Webber around to draw the coverage away from him. And having TWO guys like we did, in Webb AND Vlade, didnt hurt Brad's game and learning curve for that matter, either. Brad is a great #2 big man, thats for sure.

As bad as we've been, this is an utterly winnable game on our home floor. But we are again at a point where I'm not sure how great it is to pull these off. We've got absolutely no chance for a #1-#4 seed, very little for anything more than a #8 unles the TMac/Odom/Melo injuries/suspecnsions lay the teams at #5, 6, 7 lower than can be imagined. And so really all we are about now is finding a way to screw ourselves out of a high pick in a potential superstar laden draft.

We have to win this.

The supposedly "winnable" game on friday (nuggets without melo and jr smith) just got 100 times tougher. :\

Just heard on ESPNews that AI's gonna be making his debut on friday against us. Yipeeeeee. Hopefully they're out of rhythm and we steal the game!

Off topic, I know.

Anyway, getting back on topic of Wizards vs Kings, I hope Arenas shot is way off that night and Martin is ok to play.

GO KINGS!

I too am torn right now. As nice as winning feels, and losing sucks, prospects of getting a franchise level big man tend to even the feelings out a bit. With our luck though, chances are the ping pong balls shall fall the other way even if we suck bad.

This 3 day break is so long.

Can we play some basketball already?!?!

Hopefully, the injuries will heal and stuff during the break.

GO KINGS!!!

I know I hate to say it because I do love the team but watching games right now is like a chore. For the past three seasons I've always kicked myself around this time for buying league pass and then towards the end of the season things at least get interesting... so fingers crossed.

A few things have occurred to me.

Carmelo gets suspended for a bunch of games. Wonder of wonders, Allen Iverson is available. So theoretically, Denver never misses a step because Iverson plays as though he is the only player on the court. This is a match made in heaven. He will be the only player on the court. We may lose this one despite the suspensions.

Tomorrow night. To quote Hillary, "My mind is like Jello". Have we ever won a game on TNT? My synapses have been damaged by watching old "Bama" on TNT at halftime. No really, can the Kings win on Thursday night when TNT is broadcasting the game?

I wonder if Kings management has ever thought of implanting a remote-control electrode in Brad's butt. Perhaps we could induce a Pavlovian response by shocking him ever time he passes-up a wide-open jumper.

Would you believe that the first Kings game that I ever turned off at the close of the third quarter was the recent Utah Jazz game. The second one was the Dallas game. Yeah, so? What are the odds of the Kings winning the Lotto twice in one season.

I am thinking about having my living room fitted with ejection seats.

Don't forget to mute the halftime show unless you really need to be reminded of how badly we are playing right now.;)

I think tonight is the night we turn things around. Bibby is going to the the Bibby of old. Artest is going to be a great defender again. Miler is going to lead the team in rebounds AND blocks (OK, so I am pushing it there). Anyway, For sor unexplainable reason, I have a good feeling about tonight's game. We are going to win.

Sometimes, you just have to believe, even when you see no reason at all.

Exactly what I've been doing all along. And yeah, definitely muting the halftime show. I don't need them tp remind me how much we suck.
