Thanks Phrop and VF :)

1 out of 3 in my wishes to the powers that be isn't so bad, right? I hear it got very, very warm.

P.S. The worst part of vacationing? Unpacking, been back since Sunday and barely getting around to it :(

^missed you in this thread, folsom.

so this weekend is the rematch fernando vargas vs sugar shane mosley fight. I am rooting for vargas to knock mosley out. I am pretty amped!

Thanks ... :)

I had my blackberry with me, but it's really not "completely internet friendly" ..... works great for my email and phone calls. I can browse/work on very limited websites (sports scores, news, etc ...).

So, I wasn't completely "out of touch" ...

 Beginning of the end? for Brad and Angie?

Jolie to play widow of journalist Daniel Pearl
Thursday July 13 3:11 AM ET

Actress Angelina Jolie will star in a movie as the widow of murdered Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, trade paper Daily Variety reported in its Thursday edition.

"A Mighty Heart," adapted from Mariane Pearl's memoir of the same name, will begin shooting within the next five weeks, the paper said. The book details Pearl's search for her husband, who was abducted and beheaded by militants in Pakistan in early 2002.

"I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Daily Variety quoted Pearl as saying. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to."

English filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, famed for such war-based films as "Welcome to Sarajevo" and "The Road to Guantanamo," will direct. Jolie's boyfriend, actor Brad Pitt, will serve as a producer of the project, which is set up at Paramount Vantage, the art-house arm of Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures:eek:

haven't they learned from Ben and Jennifer?

Cartoon Network has started airing old episodes of "Pee Wee's Playhouse" during their adult swim block of programming, and I'm just as thrilled as can be.
Oh, so that's where they're airing! I read that the show was on adult swim, but I didn't know what channel. I was looking on Comcast's InDemand adult swim section.

Has anyone been paying attention to Eva Longoria and Tony Parker's relationship?

I've been looking in the magazines, and it seems that she loves him, but he doesn't seem as interested. Seems kind of odd.

How long do you guys think it will last ?

Whew - what a hot weekend !!!

Our AC has been "on the blink" for about 2-weeks and it finally JUST DIED the past Saturday afternoon ... house was about 90-degrees that evening and I NEVER HEARD SO MUCH WHINING MY WHOLE LIFE.

... and of course, IT WAS ALL MY FAULT

Well, to make a long story short - I found the problem (with some help) and fixed it.

I grew up "making due with what we got" ..... and we didn't have much ... I tell ya .... I think the next reality show should be JUST KIDS and put them on a freakin' DESERTED ISLAND and see if they can figure out HOW TO SURVIVE.

There is a Saturday morning TV show about kids on a desert island who survived a plane crash and must fend for themselves. Actually not a bad show - but not reality by any stretch of the imagination.

The comment that drives me most nuts on days like this:

But at least it's a dry heat. It's the humidity that will really get to you...

My apartment complex parking lot is getting re-paved today. That means that all the cars in that part had to be moved out of the way, and those that weren't moved by 6:30 this morning were towed to an impound yard. We residents have had plenty of warnings for weeks about this. So I woke up this morning to the lovely sound of tow trucks raising and lowering their platforms, chains getting attached, towing cars. And the sound of residents running out of their apts. yelling, "Hey! Don't tow my car!!" "Hey! That's my neighbor's car! Let me go and tell them!". If I had been more awake, I would of gone out there and watched the show. Never underestimate the stupidity of some people.

Hey, Brick, I have a legal question for you. Can I sue Mother Nature?

Surely the fact that it's STILL so hot outside at 9:31 PM is a violation of my civil rights.
