Regarding Mark Jones, and his thesaurus of words, at least the ones that come from Greek language are spot on and most of them I had no clue that exist in English as well. I think he tries to entertain the audience and even though I can tell that Kyle is a bigger fan of the squad (anybody could tell watching his today in the studio next to Morgan after the match) he doesn't have so much experience and sounds more "flat" using similar quotes and phrases.
I.
Yeah, I don't get the negativity towards Mark Jones. I really prefer it when he's on, and he and Kayte work well together. The linguistic gymnastics are obviously said in fun, kind of an inside joke to those who hear him frequently, which I appreciate. A couple of seasons ago I read he was a Kings fan and happy to have this gig, and I have seen no reason to believe otherwise.

Only 8 players in rotation tonight, coach used playoffs style rotation.
Very impressive win, team played amazing, Domas statline is super crazy (NBA malpractice). LTB!

I’m actually hoping Doug uses the bench more, especially when Fox gets back. Need to be playing 9 or 10 deep during the long regular season.

Can’t go all season playing too heavy of minutes for our starters. Need to conserve some minutes for a deep playoff run.

I get the sense other coaches don’t really respect him. Even though he’s been on the bench for a few years now, he’s not in the coaches “fraternity“….i hope he keeps snatching victories to shut them all up.
They don't know what to think of him yet. Kinda came out of nowhere, jumping from the 4th spot on the bench into digging a team out of a big hole.

Great thing about Doug, is that he's not worried or focused on outside noise. Just total focus on his team

Well once you get past those 3 he used. Production falls off. Len, crowder, McLaughlin, Colby, then some 2-ways. I mean that is slim Pickens. Worst part is we are trying to trade 2 of the 3 that played for 1 player.

I dig Mark Jones. His comment tonight about Devin Carter’s jump shot being “in the air so long it should have a movie on it“ was straight fire!

Does the dead cat bounce high? People would say anything to avoid giving credit to Christie.
Christie deserves credit and Monte deserves some apologies. Goes to show this roster was significantly better than everyone gave him credit for and a bunch of people wanted his head on a stick. Christie is maximizing that talent now, which is what the job of a head coach should be.

It's the honeymoon phase for sure but the honeymoon will last a decade.
Let’s hope so. This was certainly a benchmark win. Boston is a place in which the KINGS historically haven’t fared well. I remember a game once where they held a 25-point lead to start Q4 and lost! And this current C’s team are reigning champs. So, to continue the win streak against them is legit!

Tonight was a FANTASTIC night for me as the KINGS earned their best “W“ of the season and my Ohio State Buckeyes took down Texas and advanced to the National Championship game.

Here’s to both teams continuing their runs ….

We might see a Fox v.2 when he comes back from injury. Sitting out and watching the team succeed may inspire him in several ways.
He now sees that he really doesn't have to be the hero every game and can play a calculated game rather than a frantic one.
He sees the team winning through team effort and, from what he says, that is the kind of team he wants to play for and be a part of.
The enjoyment and reinforcement between the players and their reactions fit into his desire to have fun playing again.
The weight of winning is off of him alone so he can focus on being an enabler for teammates in addition to being a producer.
Defense has driven much of the recent success and may inspire Fox to more consistently play the stellar defense that he has demonstrated in spurts.
With the development of other guards, his minutes may be reduced enough to allow him the energy to compete at a high level throughout the game.
The team has almost developed beyond him in just the three games he has been out and it would be an incentive for him to want to be a contributing part of the advancement even if that would mean a slightly different role.

Just rewatched the game and Devin was super pivotal in the win. The 8 point scoring stretch is obvious but he also grabbed a tough rebound that sealed a possession and then poked a rebound to his teammate on one of the next plays. That and the big shot making from Deebo made all the difference.
Loved that little 2 possession stint from him defensively vs Brown. Got burned by Brown in the post and they went right back to him the next play, in ISO. Carter took the hit and got the stop the next play. This game was just a perfect example of my overall thesis on him; he may not be a #1 option offensively, but he's a guy you want and need on the floor in tough games vs quality opponents. He's built for playoff basketball.

Little things like that matter so much in the clutch, when there's so few possessions left in the game. You especially don't want a guy like Brown finding a rhythm late and spark a comeback.

I mean it’s similar to Boston’s coach. He got it last minute when Udoka got suspended. Hopefully Doug’s arc will be similar

I wouldn’t mind seeing Doug give Issac Jones some run as a backup 3, small ball 4/5 like earlier in the year. Len can also give some solid defensive minutes each night. McBuckets can still give some spot minutes/ shooting too.

Doug needs to be using at least a 9 to 10 player rotation, if we are going to make a deep playoff run.

His daughter goes to San Jose State. Wanted to be close.
