Thairo going down is going to hurt. Schmitt will be good defensively but going to miss the offensive production. SF has to be careful these next few weeks. Feels like they are starting to wobble

Elly De La Cruz again today! https://www.si.com/mlb/2023/07/08/r...t-two-pitches-steal-every-base-including-home

The Cycle redux that started the mania couple weeks ago.
This kid is actually getting me excited about MLB again and he doesn't even play for my team. What a fun story he's been! The return of base-stealing with the slightly shorter infield has also been my favorite rule change in a long time. It just doesn't feel like baseball to me if players aren't out there trying to steal bases.

I need to go get Elly De La Cruz rookie card! When I was a kid had huge collection of baseball cards along with football and basketball cards. Baseball probably first love but close call since my Kings always right there. Always followed MLB closely and since years ago met Dusty Baker here in Sac loved it when won WS ring as a manager allowing me to root for the Astros during playoff run last season.

Want a bit more convincing De La Cruz other worldly action. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nobody-does-cincinnati-red-elly-095413116.html

Lol at Manfred……he’s clueless. Letting it get under his skin is telling. Compare to Adam Silver who rolls with it.
The way Manfred has handled the A’s situation has been nothing short of disrespectful to the A’s fan base

The All-Star Break, followed by playing Pittsburgh, has been just what the doctor ordered for the Giants.

Now onto a fun series with Cincinnati! Time to see Elly De La Cruz up close!
Patrick Bailey mostly struggling through a lot of his minor leagues with the stick and all of a sudden being a 2-way star in the majors is nuts. He's not Buster with the stick, but I think he's probably better defensively. Crazy

He won't get ROY buzz with Cruz and Carroll in the NL, but he's more than deserving.

What a wild win last night. Didn’t get to watch the whole thing because I went to a concert, but even following along with the score was a roller coaster.

The Ohtani talk is heating up. An article in The Athletic talking about possible teams acquiring him and what it might take.

Harrison was deemed not part of the deal but Luciano and Whisenhunt and Vaun Brown and possibly Matos were thought to be possibilities.

For one thing, unless Ohtani was locked up with a contract extension, there is no way I would do a deal.
Secondly, dealing Luciano would be really tough. But it’s baseball and how often does 1 guy make a championship contending difference? Look at SD and the Mets with all the high profile talent they have brought in.

Disturbed, with Jjnjer and Breaking Benjamin before. Great show. Disturbed shaped my heavier music tastes in my early high school years. Very glad I got to see them finally. Wasn’t going to make the mistake I did with Linkin Park; and keep putting them off “Maybe next time…” until it’s too late for that.
