Gabe Vincent. Former Stockton King. I guess the Sac Kings signed him for 11 days after he went undrafted as well. Didn’t get a summer league invite though.

A lot more value in the second round and undrafted pool than years past because of the amount of upperclassmen that fall through the cracks. As the first round focuses on raw talent and a player being over 21-22 is seen as a draft night weakness, You have 3-4 year players that put up excellent numbers in college and are ready to contribute.

I dunno, would have to think about it.....depends who trading with.....how about Spurs ?
If the rumors are true he doesn’t want to play second fiddle. Sounds like it would need a co pilot situation. Not sure who that could be. I’d assume Boston would at least want one really good established player back and picks.

both conference finals have been underwhelming. can we fast forward to the Finals already? the Heat meanwhile execute like a well oiled auto machine, Jimmy is doing a Kawhi when the Raps won the ship sticking with mid-range Js and lock down defense

All the hype around Victor, they'd only get him and that's it.......seriously I dunno about Victor - he looks like an injury waiting to happen ala Oden.

You can’t do much better than Brown as your number 2 guy. Maybe see if you can get Dame for him? Someone like Beal is a lateral move.

Other than that I suppose you would be looking solely for draft picks and prospects for him but that’s not really where Boston is.

I'm thinking the Heat in 6 games over the Nuggets, maybe 7.

I've picked the Heat to lose every series thus far so I might as well just pick them for the Finals. They are due, they lost in the bubble finals and I want to see them get it with this squad, they play a fun brand of ball.

maybe a lateral move is all they need. I think Beal would be a good target for Boston. Washington is in no man's land right now, not committed enough for a full rebuild or a Playoff berth. Deep down, I'd love to see Beal stay a Wizard his whole career like Dame in Portland but that type of loyalty isn't common any longer

My guess is the Heat will not be betting favorites in the finals.....the Nuggets will actually be the Underdogs. The Heat are proving they are the best and rightfully so.....

Miami definitely better coached than Denver but Heat have thoroughly outcoached everyone they've faced this years amazing run to EC title starting with the play-in.
It'll be interesting to see Denver's size against the Heat....but they already dispatched just as good and physical a Bucks team, so that doesn't really hold water anyway.

Sooooo, maybe Jaylen Brown will be available in a trade this offseason after all
Blazers fans (who are in deep delusion surrounding the 3rd pick, if we were a bit nuts thinking we could trade down and still keep Keegan) seem convinced he will be theirs. Or maybe my twitter is just highly localized.

Both these series are going EXACTLY as I hoped.

I'd be lying if I said I KNEW both the Nuggets and Heat would be up 3-0, but I have bet both teams to win each game so far.

I know someone from the Miami area and he brought up the Heat to me just before GM1 and I told him I'd be betting MIA this entire series. Not because I really thought they were a better team or would surely beat BOS, but because they've been super hot and clicking on all cylinders all postseason.

Seriously, they keep playing like this and I think they'll beat Denver too (assuming no NBA-assisted comebacks from down 0-3 in order to make history and big news). How crazy freaking crazy would that be? An 8th seed winning the whole thing??

IIRC the Rockets were a 6th seed when they won one of their titles in the mid-90's and still remain the lowest seeded team to ever win it all.

I really hope the Heat have peaked early and have a letdown vs the Nuggets cause atm they're the team to beat. I can't wait for Jokic vs Bam and KCP/Gordon/Bruce Brown on Butler.

Boston are the softest team ever on talent they should have swept the Hawks and beat Philly/Miami both like 4-1 or 4-2 max.

This Heat team, is kinda what I was hoping the Kings might be this season.....its nice to see another team do it as classic underdogs. Woulda been fun to see how the Heat team handled the Warriors.....
I'm actually kind of surprised that any Kings fans are rooting for the Heat, if only because I'd expect a lot of y'all to be lowkey jealous of them. Fans of small market teams spend an inordinate amount of time bemoaning their inability to acquire high-level free agents and have lengthy discussions on platforms like this about how they "need" to tank in order to get good through the draft, or how they "need" to go all-in on big name free agents via trade, and all of the inherent disadvantages they have by being in a small market. And meanwhile here are the Miami Heat, of all teams, making a dollar out of fifteen cents: one guy with Top 10 talent, but a reputation for wearing out his welcome everywhere he goes, one guy with Top 30 talent, and a bunch of guys who could have been had for a turkey sandwich. And they're a game away from The Finals; I honestly can't believe that that isn't burning Kings fans up inside. Like, how come the dudes we pick up off the street never turn into good player?

Without looking it up, can anyone tell me, with Oladipo and Love injured, who the highest-drafted player on the Heat's active roster is? Because if you don't know, you're going to make the Wee-Bey face when I tell you.

Zeller went 4th, so I'm guessing him.

I'm absolutely rooting for the Heat because I love watching team basketball, and Spo, Jimmy, and the entire team seem to have bought in, know their roles, and have interchangeable players when someone gets injured (Duncan for Herro)... And I love Jimmy, that dude walks the walk as much as anyone in the NBA

Because maybe they are the exception. Jealous, yes but you can't or shouldn't begrudge excellence, just tip your hat to them

I should want the Celtics to win having lived on the Cape when I was little but Ainge sort of soured that.

What's pretty remarkable about what the Heat have done this year is that of the 8 players who have contributed 1000+ regular season minutes, only 3 (Bam, Herro, Oladipo) were top-20 draft picks. Butler and Lowry were top-30 picks, and 3 players (Strus, Martin, Vincent) weren't drafted at all!

The Kings also had 8 players contribute 1000+ regular season minutes this year, but all 8 were top-20 draft picks.

I'm not going to look through all 30 teams, but I suspect that the Kings' model is much more common than the Heat's model.

The Celtics for whatever reason seem to struggle with smaller, more capable shooting teams. The Dubs last year, the Heat this year. On paper they have the tools to combat it, but for whatever reason they still struggle.

Yeah, and if Denver wins that's a pretty good thing for a similar team like Sac. Now, obviously, Domas isn't within sniffing distance of Jokic as a scorer, but there's a roster building path for a team like the Kings.

I have no reason to hate on the Heat. I did back when they formed their overhyped “super team”. I think most non-Heat fans hated that team.

But as far as this Heat team goes, they really don’t have any players I dislike nor do they have a history like BOS or LAL.

I think they are drastically overachieving beyond their talent and skill, which kinda makes it fun to see. Like, they could make the Finals, maybe even win it in a couple weeks, but then I could then see them back as a 7th or 8th seed next season and out in the 1st round.

They’re just doing most things right and hitting clutch shots when they need them. And getting contributions from different players each game. That kinda thing doesn’t happen consistently most the time, but is magical when it does.

Assuming both MIA and DEN finish off their 3-0 leads to reach the Finals, DEN should win it all. They are much more talented and the better team. But so was MIL and so is BOS. However it happened, this HEAT team is just so in synch and have so much confidence right now that it’s gonna be tough for anyone to beat them — unless they start to somehow lose their mojo.

The Heat, to me, are like that middling NBA player that just gets on fire for whatever reason and just can’t miss often. Think Tony Delk scoring 53 against our KINGS. Except they are doing for an entire playoff run, like Nick Van Exel did back in like 2004 or whatever year it was. Just playing beyond themselves and who knows how long it will last.

Let’s not forget, MIA almost played their way out of the play-in. They lost their first game to ATL by double-digits, then had to overcome CHI in Q4 to avoid elimination. That Q4 is the moment this all started for MIA. And it’s been crazy to see them take off since.

I never said hate, I said jealous. But what the hell, let's pretend that those two words were synonyms, there's still a ton of middle ground between rooting for a team and hating them.

I am mostly surprised that there are any Kings fans anywhere, many of whom possess the stereotypical small market fan mentality, who are rooting for Miami to succeed at doing something that the team they root for has tried and failed to do for many years. Not winning a championship, specifically, but winning a championship by building a team the way that many people believe that a small market team would have to build one, while possessing none of the supposed small market disadvantages.

add Duncan Robinson to the list of undrafted
