Like I said last week, make us an offer, NBA. Looking at you, Danny Ainge. Boogie is a mega talent but selfish, egocentric, moody whiner, with a TS% and assist to turnover ratio and defensive effort over 6 years consistent with the number of wins his team has tallied.
You can have your favorable sentiment towards the guy, but this contradicts some pertinent statistical data on both ends of the floor. High usage and inefficiency on one end as shooter and passer....and questionable defensive effort on the other.
I want to believe in this guy but he makes it difficult with a final game at Arco that was frankly embarrassing. And I think anyone paying close attention should come to similar conclusion.
Boogie became a better player under Karl through the offense Karl designed to maximize Cousins talents....with Rondo as a master set-up man...and still we went nowhere w/ Boogie as the centerpiece, sucking up possession and oxygen from the collective spirit.
And how mentally unstable are you when you get a technical foul when you know said technical results in one game suspension and loss of a decent chunk in money? Are you really that incapable of controlling your emotions?
This has not happened once but twice in two consecutive seasons. Get a grip homie. Anyone that unbalanced is NOT someone I am not super eager to build around with new arena and new coach. A fresh slate seems appropriate especially with WCS position established as more of a center than power forward.
This is the bottom line:
Boogie is a flighty asset who has NOT played in significant NBA games and yet still have found plenty of time to self-implode. So what happens when games actually count in the real playoffs or actual playoff run... neither of which he has ever experienced?
I will tell you what....KA-BOOM. He's going to force shots and commit frustrration fouls and when forced shots and frustration fouls end in predictable result he will blame coach or ref or teammate and anyone but himself.
This is what Vlade is faced with as he tries to elevate team to legitimacy as playoff contender or better. Obviously we do not want to give him away, but fresh start for both parties is most prudent with Boogie to highest bidder....he has two years left on cap friendly deal coming off a 27/11 season. There's a time to field offers and that time is now.
We can try again next year with Boogie, new coach and arena and cast or characters....or we can force teams to overpay this off-season by bidding against each other until no brain proposal is presented. I know what I'd be inclined to do and I think (hope) Vlade shares my sentiment.
