Cousins suspended one game

I can understand the suspension here. It won't really do anything anyway, once an offender, always an offender. This is nothing new here, it's Cousins vs head coach, as always. At some point, you need to just go out there and have a professional out look on things. Throwing tantrums and going around complaining about calls just worsens the situation. I don't know if he will ever learn to tone it down, maybe winning will help that, who's to say the Kings will even be winners with Boogie though? no one can really say. We can speculate but that's all it is at this point. I don't mind Vlade disciplining him here, if he acts up again, continue to do the same until maybe one day it clicks. Losing is tough on him, I get it...that's all he knows since coming to the Pros. That's not an excuse though, he isn't the only superstar player that's been through turmoil, he won't be the last.

Boogie is losing his mind under frustration of losses if he is expecting an old man with throat cancer is suppose to yell at the refs on his behalf. Give me a break you big baby.

WAAHHHHH....the coach won't argue on my behalf to the refs for dubious call that upon review on instant replay proves the ref was right and the player was wrong......WAAAAHHHHHH

Every time Boogie flips his lid and they show the play over which said lid was flipped it always shows the defender is just standing there and being vertical. Defenders are entitled to the position on the floor.

And by the way Boogie is second in the NBA in free throws by 0.1 to James Harden (10.6 to 10.5) so his victim complex with the officials is a delusion.

Baby needs his bottle.

I'm with you here. He really has no reason to spiral out of control and revert to Boogie of old, when the going gets tough, this is what we get out of him. It happens time and time again, it's like clockwork. You just sit and wait for it to happen again, because it can happen at any given time. I'd like Vlade to sit him down in the off season and really try working with him on his on court issues.

You don't suspend your star player who threatened to force a trade in the offseason if he just asked for help. Or if he got super upset about the game. You saw a lot of guys over there in that video talking to Boogie in a manner that was like "woah ease up". Let's be honest, Boogie had to have gone wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overboard here, and there's no excuse for it.

Fairly well put. I think as time goes by, he will settle down. Part of it because he is learning and part of it is that the natural progression of people with tempers is that they calm down as the years pass.

I sometimes wonder how many bruises I could tolerate in a losing cause before I exploded. He gets battered and bashed, sometimes with the intent to set him off. It's not a small thing.

There's an explanation but not an excuse. I agree.

I'm okay with this. The 8 seed already seems like a distant memory anyway. And I don't think this is even about George Karl anymore at this point, it's about preparing for whoever is taking over after George Karl. There has to be line and there have to be real consequences for crossing the line.

A young and feisty George might have. The term spitting mad was invented after watching George Karl heat up on the sidelines back in his prime.

Those days are done.

Jason Ross on his show reported that Karl leads the NBA in technical's by a head coach this season. Doesn't sound right, but maybe it's possible.

No, doesn't sound right at all, although I can recall 2, and don't know how many coaches rack up double figures anymore.

I mean every single team should approach it the same way, the good teams do more often than not. Play him hard and physical, after a while, it will affect his game and attitude too. It's just a matter of time, if he gets the benefit of the whistle, sure...he will play through it. Some nights the whistles won't go in his favor and he will miss bunnies and commit turnovers.

Cuz probably blew up at Vlade for not firing Karl's lame duck arse.

Anyways, good on Vladefather to suspend him.

Cuz is my guy, but he needs to step the professionalism up. He wants to lead this team, he needs to act like a leader.

And the franchise needs to fire Karl. He's been awful. This is just going to continue to get more toxic. If he could actually still coach it would be one thing, but Karl is Natt level bad as a HC for us.

One other thing, the coach(s) should be backing their players regardless...the fact that Boogie comes out and is angry about this not happening is silly. Karl knows he is a goner, he isn't emotionally invested in this team, only financially.

at the end of the day the suspension is a move that needed to be made.

we shouldnt be in this situation by any means though. The end of the season has been signaled with this. It is all over. Where there was once hope there isnt.

Karl should have been moved on at all star break - now we will send cousins in the summer brooding, into rio ready to hear all those comments about how much of a joke we are, another chip to add to the countless others that push the fact that he should just check out.

I don't care what anybody else thinks. I'll never be upset at a player for reacting to continuous losing and more than questionable coaching tactics. I recall eras in this franchises history in Sacramento where it seemed like nobody on the team gave a rat's @$$. Think 1989-1992ish and 43 consecutive road defeats. A player like Boogie would have been a breath of fresh air. Everything has it's pluses and minuses. I'll always side with the player that cares too much than the one that doesn't care at all and just goes with the flow.

I'm very, very tired of the drama. I've reached the point where I don't care about how many points someone scores or how many rebounds they pull down. I'm just tired of the drama. I'm tired of every time there is drama, it revolves around the same player over and over and over again. Just about every time I start to believe that Cuz has figured it out, and has turned the corner. That he's finally maturing, he proves me wrong. And I'm tired of it. I'm not rooting for the Sacramento Cousins, I'm rooting for the Sacramento Kings.

I get that Cousins is frustrated. Hell, I'm frustrated! Probably everyone on this forum is frustrated. The difference is that Cousins can actually do something about it. We live out our passions vicariously. The question is, because Cousins is our best player, does that give him Carte Blanche to suspend civility? I played for managers that I couldn't stand. I could have managed the team better. But I never even thought about calling him out in front of god and everyone. I'm sure that Collison, Gay, Rondo, Casspi, and everyone else on the team is frustrated, but you don't see them acting out in the fashion that Cousins does. Enough is enough!

I was about to start a thread on how we could rebuild around Cousins. Now I'm not so sure I want to. I'm just very, very tired of this crap.

General info: From what has been said by those in attendance at the game last night, Boogie was very angry that Karl wasn't standing up for him and the rest of the team against the officials.
So he's mad that the coaching staff, that leads the league in Ts, wasn't bitching and moaning after every call, as per his standards?

The only two constants this season have been DeMarcus Cousins' dominance and George Karl's incompetence.

Say what you want about Cousins, he showed up this year and earned every bit of that All-Star nod. He's still immature but we've also seen some growth.

Karl hasn't done **** this year! He's butchered lineups, he's developed the leagues worst defense and has completely lost the locker room.

I side with DeMarcus. He's frustrated, we're frustrated and there is nothing worse than looking over at the guy responsible for preparing this team taking a god damn nap.

Kayte said it on the post game show. She was next to the huddle. It's not just Cuz that feels this way either.
This is as good a place to put this note as any. Cuz was yelling saying he wanted backup from the coach. At the least I hope Karl heard that. It's a valid complaint especially when one single tech would have calmed down Boogie. Whose fault is it I suppose can become an issue. With all these meetings that were supposed to go on weekly, it had to be mentioned. BTW, anyone believe these weekly meetings between Karl, Rondo, and Boogie actually occurred? 'Course not.

They should have at least bi-weekly meetings. Monthly. Yes, Boogie can be a big baby but there are solutions. This is one of them.

i'm tired also but i'm gonna give him carte blanche to go ape**** on karl every damn time. he is one of the winningest coaches but his coaching blows for the kings. he shouldn't have even come back considering his health. vivek is a buffoon for hiring him. kings need press but not for sum dumb **** like this.

I agree! It seems that things have devolved into FOR/AGAINST Cousins. I know it's more nuanced than that but Cousins is at the center of a larger storm.

Can a fan simultaneous marvel at Cousin's basketball skills and be scared that he's a finger poke in the chest away from cold cocking someone? Maybe in the perfect marriage of coaching and subordinate talent Cousins could hold it together. What are the odds of Sacramento morphing into a place where that could happen?
