I don't think the Stockton deal is guaranteed and I haven't seen yet how much James Anderson got.

EDIT: Bumped Belinelli up to $6 million. Thanks Gilles!

One of national writers correctly reported that Belinelli got just above MLE - his contract starts at $6 million.
And Rondo's salary being at around $9.5 and not at $10 might be a very important distinction in how incoming contracts would be structured.

As long as Rondo knows that the ball goes to Cousins 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th it should be OK. This ain't Rondo's team.
Rondo has always been at his best with other weapons to pass to. Allen, Pierce and Garnett isn't worlds away from Bellinelli/McLemore, Gay and Cousins. It should work out okay.

And honestly, if a year ago we knew we'd be signing Bellinelli and Rondo to give us a Rondo, Bellinelli, Gay, WCS, Cousins starting lineup I think a lot of Kings fans would be thrilled.

Yeah, Rondo is essentially using us on a one year deal but this is the kind of risk that a small market team has to take. Will he return to form? I have no idea. But while I wasn't thrilled with the endless fascination with Rondo, the reality is that the possibility exists that he'll have a resurgence in Sacramento and at least approach the type of player he was when people were putting him in the conversation as the best PG in the league. And honestly if Karl is still in place I think he'll be an infinitely better match for Rondo than Carlisle was.

The Kings still need to acquire a backup (or starting) big to replace JT's role as a fringe starter/3rd big off the bench but assuming Casspi is resigned, the Kings HAVE upgraded their roster.

Hall of Famer
Ok shooter check
Playmaker with defense check
Backcourt depth check
Vlade is doing it guys

One more important signing. A PF with experience that is a quality role player to hold the fort down til WCS is ready

Then secondary signings a fourth big and casspi

I think we'll see the Kings going hard after Josh Smith and/or Kosta Koufos next.

I see a lot of talk about Casspi's money (if he's re signed) coming out of out cap space, but won't we still have the room MLE, almost 3 million, available once the cap space is gone? Seems like that would be enough for Omri and would allow us to hold onto all the cap space for a bigger contract

MLE only for teams above the cap. Now LLE is...hmmm...not sure.

Of course if I'm Omri and I see Aminu on Day 1 sign for $7.5mil a seaosn I'm thinking wait! I was as good as that guy last year!

I still think we need a wing defender on the bench in addition to another big. Casspi is nice depth, but I don't like him being the only backup SF on the roster. I suppose if Karl wants to play Rondo and Collison together (stupid idea) and Rudy at the 4 (grrr) that means both McLemore and Belinelli are now SFs. But that's not what I would do. Keep everybody at their natural positions, replace George Karl with Thibodeau, get Harkless and O'Quinn from Orlando, then re-sign Casspi after we're capped out using the smaller cap exception. And there might even be a little money left to sign another big.

Rondo..........McLemore........Gay............Cauley-Stein.....Cousins
Collison........Belinelli............Harkless.....Moreland...........O'Quinn
.....................Anderson..........Casspi

We'd be a little thin up front (especially with experience) but that's a well structured roster that would play well for a defensive minded coach with a half-court offense.

Rasual Butler on a 1 year deal if we don't get Casspi would not be bad, last year for the first half of the year dude was killing it. Another shooter to spread the floor.

Pretty sure there is a new MLE called the Room MLE for teams that use cap space, a little smaller than the regular MLE. Started with the new CBA. It's in #25 on the Larry Coon FAQ

George Karl is not going to be replaced with Tibs or for anybody for that matter...we really just need to move on from that.
If he wants to play a two PG offense when we actually have two good SGs on the roster and one of the best SFs in the league, I'm actively campaigning for his removal.

"Room MLE" is new this CBA ($2.8M this year), for teams that are under the cap and spend up to it. Omri would fit in nicely, unless he gets a feeling he can get more money elsewhere.
