Kings and free agency - part 2

I am really trying not to be negative, but- a rookie and an elite D-league guy... reality check my man...
WCS is the most elite defensive big man coming out of the draft in probably ten years. He'll be better that Deandre Jordan was his first year.

He something like the second fastest baseline to baseline... in the entire combine... INCLUDING GUARDS. His max reach was obviously the highest, and something like the highest in the past five years. His defensive footwork is fantastic, instincts very good. He's insanely long, insanely athletic, skilled defensively, and also a high IQ player. The dude is the complete package defensively.

The reason he didn't go top three is because he has a very limited offensive game... at least the he got to show at Kentucky.

I wasn't aware that the best big man of his generation, coupled with an elite defensive mate, with a defensive/rebounding project automatically eliminated you from playoff contention, regardless of if you have a top 5 sf, defensive stud/3 pt specialist SG, and former 4x all defensive team point guard and excellent assist man.

Well, now I know.
So your argument is basically that:

If wcs is the exception to the rookie big man struggle and reaches hit potential on year one

If undrafted Moreland comes out of nowhere to not only earn any minutes but also to be a key contributor

If Matthews returns quickly from a major injury

If rondo plays like rondo of 3-4 years ago instead of the malcontent who no longer defends and can't shoot at all

If all that stuff happens, we'll be in good shape.

Instead I look at the more realistic side that says wcs is going to need the regular time a rookie big takes to get up to speed, that Moreland hasn't done anything to show he is more than a 5th big, that Matthews will probably need time to get up to speed if he ever reaches his old self and that rondo isn't the same guy he was when surrounded by a bunch of HOF's.

If that happens, we should be much improved, might make the playoffs but aren't contenders.

Dude, you are trolling right now...
No. Go back and read what I said about the doctors. I said they made the offer with the best opinions in mind.

No, but if some of it happens, or most of it happens in a partial way, we'll be looking very good.

But if NONE of it happens, you'll get to gloat and say I told you so. At least you hedged your entire fanhood, unlike what Vlade is doing with our roster. ALL IN.

He probably will be better than the 4 and 4 that Jordan averaged, which still isn't ideal for our only other competent big

How do you even get through life with all the risk that is out there? I mean... IF you make it to the store today without getting hit by a car, IF the milk you buy isn't contaminated with a deadly bacteria, IF you aren't mistaken for a guy who banged some guy's wife and he shoots you as you walk home, IF some kids didn't pull a prank on you and booby trap your front door while you were at the store buying killer milk and dodging bullets on the way home... THEN you'll be ok.

Seems you're against risk at all cost.

There's little risk behind a keyboard,... other than becoming very boring :D

No. And my likes per post ratio is top 5 on this board. Because I post thoughtful responses. Not just negative emergency flag waving like you.
Well actually... you have 3,838 posts and 1,513 likes that's 0.39 per post, I have 278 posts and 155 likes that's 0.55- mine is much better, might rethink your strategy and post more "negative emergency flag waving"...

Come on, if you are coming to a pissing contest- you better come prepared...

Wow big history you've got there.

My point was that I don't post constant negative stuff. You're like the FOX News of this board.

I don't see how DJ doesn't goe to Dallas.
If he wants to win, its a no brainer to stay with his buddy Blake. I can't stand the Clippers and especially their fans that show up to Kings games but CP3-Reddick-PP-Griffin-DJ looks a heck of a lot better than ?PG-Matthews-Parsons-Dirk(for a year or two)-DJ.

Wes Matthews wants to play with DeAndre Jordan, I'm told, and could in Dallas. But how can he turn down $16m/yr in Sacramento?

Looks like we may have to wait for DeAndre before Wes chooses us or Dallas

Wes would rather play with Jordan than Cousins? That should either send a message to Cousins, or a message to the Kings because while Jordan is nice, Cousins is the man at that position. What could Wes be thinking.

Not sure any team with a cousins/wcs/Moreland front court is a guaranteed playoff team let alone contender
Noticeably absent from your front court list is Rudy Gay. Last I checked, he's pretty darn good and certainly isn't part of the backcourt rotation. But you're still probably right. Why anybody would believe that a front court consisting of the best center in the league, a fellow 20+ point scorer/team USA teammate, and potentially one of the better defensive bigs from day one any good is beyond me. That's just a silly pipe dream.

What?

You suggested he would be better than rookie jordan and I pointed out that didn't mean much.

How is your response at all relevant?

And to be clear, I'm a big wcs fan and think he was absolutely the right choice in the draft. I'm just not comfortable trying to make that front court rotation work and would like to see us bring in some bigs.

I dont want to turn this into a peeing contest but Cousins is the best center in the league and in my mind the #2 player on earth. Any front court that has Cousins on it automatically becomes one of the best front courts out there.
So our front court the last few years was one of the best? Sure didn't seem like it any time cousins was out and it's now lacking even more depth.

Be careful if you disagree with him he'll send you a private message and call you a douche...
