Malone fired

This is how you get fired. Call your owner full of it.

"I don’t care what anybody says," Malone said after after a Dec. 6 loss to the Orlando Magic, per Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee. "Analytics, whatever you want to call it. I think it’s all B.S. Defense wins in the NBA, and (Saturday) we didn’t defend anybody."

It's a cold world indeed. Doing things the right way can get you fired when your owner insist on doing it wrong.

You are missing the point. This team was winning mainly due to Cousins' emergence and a solid core of guys in Darren Collison and Rudy Gay, not Mike Malone.

I'm more irate now than last night. This is ****ing unbelievable. Complete incompetence.

I hope the players come out and get blown off the court on Tue, 17,317 boo Vivek and chant for Malone, and when Vivek comes out at halftime, the whole arena boos him off the court and starts throwing **** at him. Delay the start of the 3rd.

Make a spectacle out of it. Let the whole country know the fanbase isn't as dumb as our FO and owner. Let the nation know these clowns don't respresent the fanbase who without us, wouldn't have been able to buy and keep the team here.

That's the only way it appears Vivek might learn and the message gets through the combination of his thick skull and arrogance.

This worries me a TON. So many rookie season ticket holders (like me) jumped in when the franchise was saved...and it's financially straining for me. But, the appearance of stability combined with the promise of a new arena was really enticing. And now? This feels like a punch in the gut.
I hope someone captures this and sends it Vivek. Keep pretending your jerry jones Vivek. See what happens to the fan base.

And with the exception of SA, none of those teams had a bruising big man as their cornerstone. If we had dominant swings, PGs I'd have no problem with our bigs being a few shot blockers to anchor the d. But that isn't the roster or style that makes sense for our team.

People like you love to use that argument while ignoring the fact that teams that have played that style of ball and don't feature the top "littles" in the league pay a price in the form of many losses.
SA is a fairly big "exception."

I hadn't seen that quote, but respect to Malone. I hope he lands on his feet for another team and kills it as a HC.

Now taking it to the next level:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pnktf8e

we will be the perfect team! just think of the possibilities!!! Love will be our center that can rain 3-s and more importantly- he would grab the rebound and do his outlet pass to Josh Smith that will wait on the other side of the court and just DUNK IT!!!! we can do this every single play- IT CANT BE STOPPED!!!111!!! we will be the most entartaining team in basketball history and probably win like 10 championships in a row before anyone realizes our schtick! GO VIVEK! GO GO GO VIVEK!

doubt it. the real lesson comes when cuz leaves and he has to rebuild w/ no cornerstone.

the obvious end to this saga: Mullins coaxes Nellie out of retirement and all of Vivek, PDA and Nellie are hospitalised during the introductory press conference, when "an irate, New York based lawyer" (as the police will call it) storms the stage and starts beating on them with a baseball bat. unless said NY-based lawyer suffers an aneurysm first.
You left out the part where an Atlanta-based Navy veteran was discovered attempting to feed their bodies into a wood chipper.

I hope the players dont go back to seeing sactown as just a showcasing/stepping stone to hopefully land a better job in a real NBA organization.
It could be worse now. Until the Maloofs ran out of money, we used to be NBA Siberia and inept. We are poised to turn this into a circus and routinely be viewed as a joke outside the Sacramento media bubble, not because we are bad. Instead, as a fairly accurate reflection of our dysfunction and insanity.

And it's not just players. What coach or GM wants to sign up to work for an owner that will constantly tie his hands, nit pick, want to rap about coaching 7th grade girls, fire you at the drop of the hat and trash you on the way out.

pushing this ahead once again. No reason for Vivek to be able to hide just by the very amount of chaos he has created.
That article makes me cringe. I don't care if he saved the team, if Vivek meddles as much as has been reported, he needs to GTFO. I'm so scared of what will become of Cuz in a run-n'-gun offense.

Fortunately that is just picking up on some semi-speculation in the Woj article of the "logically the owner is a bleeping idiot and the interim coach has no power to say no, so..." variety.

To say that I would go ballistic on this organization if we caught an actual hint of that oncourt is an understatement. I'd probably start poking around in Vivek's finances and see if there was any strike suit that could be rustled up to cause him the same pain he is causing everybody else by being a clueless busybody.

Another good article, and this tidbit:

Malone now joins Shareef Abdur-Rahim on the list of ousted employees the Kings hired before D’Alessandro and Chris Mullin — the latter a top adviser who has Ranadivé’s ear. Abdur-Rahim expressed disagreement with D’Alessandro, Mullin, and Mitch Richmond during the draft process, and left the team shortly after an argument on draft night, per several league sources.

and

Malone was absolutely threatened by the team’s move over the summer to hire a lead assistant from a pool that included Alvin Gentry, per several sources familiar with the matter. (Three league sources say Gentry was uncomfortable with the possibility that the Kings were setting him up to succeed Malone, and ended up taking an assistant job under Steve Kerr in Golden State.

Obvious the PDA/Mullin crew is taking over and removing anyone in their path.

Kings like the uptempo offense that new interim coach Tyrone Corbin was running with the summer league team that won the title in Las Vegas.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:
The owner played the part of a fantasy league owner, treating the Kings like a science experiment. He shared tactical experiences with Malone about coaching his child’s youth team, and pressed him to consider playing four-on-five defense, leaking out a defender for cherry-picking baskets. Some semblance of that strategy is expected to be employed with Corbin now, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Some NBA execs curious about Chris Mullin's desire to coach Kings: "All he has to decide is that's what he wants and job is his," a GM says.

Wow just Wow.

Seriously this is just a load of crap. The team has one proven starter besides Cuz.
I love how Collison has played, but if Mully and co think thats enough to change the tide... they're just stupid.

Good lord. Glad our summer league success is truly paving the way for the future..... /sarcasm

Mullin needs to leave. He just sits on the sidelines acting all happy go lucky when he is behind the scenes dismantling any good we had and getting rid of anybody who disagrees with him.

Maybe we can pool together some money and buy Vivek and Mullin some Warriors season tickets? They can watch the great offense that they see in their fantasies

This sucks.

Vivek is a horrible owner, I don't care if he helped keep the kings in sacramento.

If somebody adopts a child, then proceeds to starve and beat the kid, people don't say "at least they got the child out of the orphanage." A person would say "They aren't fit to be a parent."

Vivek isn't fit to be an NBA owner. He's a meddling megalomaniac who doesn't know **** about the game and he's about to turn our team into a joke.
