Kings active in trade talks?

Yeah ... I'd have to pass on this one.
With Evans and Landry or maybe plans to resign Acy or Gray in offseason for cheap, I don't see the need for JT.
I'm not an anti-JT but Evans/Acy or even Landry bring a lot of fire than JT.
That fire in the game could really help DMC's moody plays from time to time than JT's pouting.

A few positives of a potential Jack for JT swap -

Both guys have partially guaranteed deals ending in 2016-2017, but Jack's is only guaranteed for 500,000 ... JT is for over 2 million. Also, JT's contract gets bigger down the line, eventually costing more than Jack who's cap hit stays at 6,300,000 every year. JT also has a trade kicker.

Jack can actually make more sense financially depending on how you look at the numbers. I'm not advocating for the deal, just pointing out a few things.

I also think, potentially, Jack is a better fit as a backup 1/2 than Thompson as the FOURTH big. He's a good third big, but no one will take Landry. If the Kings are looking for an upgrade at PF anyway, I can see why they'd swap out for the backup guard. I can see it. Not totally on board, but it can make sense depending on what PDA has planned next.

OK, with the Thornton trade done only three more too go. Meaning none of them will happen.:)

Landry for Jack. Landry has one more year than Jack but Cleveland seems determined to get rid of Jack. The rumors of Thompson instead of Landry throws this and the next ones out but I'm going to ignore the rumors at the moment.

Outlaw and Jimmer for Henson and OJ Mayo. It has been assumed Sanders would be moved before Henson but there have been reports (actually tweets) that Milwaukee would be willing to give up Henson to get out of the OJ Mayo contract. This would save them ~13 million the following two years on Mayo's contract. Wishful thinking. Henson would actually fit in the Kings trade exemption (according to ESPN's trade machine). This would allow Outlaw and Jimmer to fit salary wise for OJ Mayo.

IT and Thompson for Teague. There have been tweets than the Hawks have been disappointed with Teague development. I think it's been mentioned here or elsewhere that this swap would be beneficial to both sides.

........... and now I've jinxed them from happening despite them not going to happen anyways.

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN has learned Cavs are in talks w/Sacramento on deal to swap Jarrett Jack for Jason Thompson. BUT Cavs looking for third team to route JT

@ESPNSteinLine: As talks currently stand, I'm told Cavs NOT inclined to send Jarrett Jack to Sacramento UNLESS they find third team to take Jason Thompson
So in other words Jason Thompson is staying right where he's at.... hooray! Never thought I'd see this front court just get messier once Petrie were gone.

Trading JT would probably be again about the new brain trust playing its old favorites. Anything that predates them is bad. All their little crappy pets from previous stops and friendships = good. except they aren't. But still, we'll clear Thornton for Ben, clear JT for Landry, and hey we aren't a damn bit better and are stacking up eternal contracts to rampant mediocrities, but at least we'll have our cronyism count rolling.

This. Would a lineup of

IT/Jack
Ben/JET/Jimmer
Gay/Williams/Outlaw
Landry/Acy
Cousins/Evans

Really be any better than what we had to start the season, especially when you take into account cap space.

Not a fan of this AT ALL!!!!!

JT is a great 3rd tall on a very good team. Jack would be nice, though not a fan of that salary nor the length of the deal.

Am I the only one that is really pissed off that the guys we seem to be going after all have some GSW connection. The crap has got to stop because those guys have never been winners.

Just throwing it out there to see what people think:
Sac trades: IT, DWilliams, Landry
Sac receives: Henson, Mayo, Ridnour, 2015 1st rounder, 2014 2nd rounder

Bucks trade: Mayo, Henson, Ridnour, 2015 1st, 2014 2nd rounder
Bucks receive: IT, Landry, Williams

I'd do this trade easy. I just don't think the Bucks will.

JJack's deal is 3 years, same with JT. Does JT have a PO after the 2nd year or something, or am I missing something?

Talks about Shumpert brought out the name of Reggie Bullock. Doc hates rookies, wonder if he's available on the cheap. Strong defensive swingman, who can shoot. Certainly can find a role on this dreadful team, could likely replace Ben within 2-3 games in the starting lineup.

Nooooo please, PLEASE no big trades. Wait until the off season to improve this team. There's absolutely no reason to get a player like Rondo now. Just don't trade our future away for extra wins this year, PLEASE!

I don't think Rondo is part of the equation. If I had to guess, I'm thinking "big trade" means multiple players/multiple teams. The front office isn't looking for a way to win a few more games now. They're looking for a way to build a team around DMC that will win lots of games for years to come.

And I'm completely fine with that. But the way the tweet looks, it sounds like they are looking for another "big" trade. The Suns are looking for a big trade because they have the assets and want to compete in the playoffs this year. We are not the Suns and I hope to Pete D we aren't thinking we are.

Agreed. I don't think Kings front office cares about this year at all. I think they either want to trade IT for a good asset, which doesn't look like they could find any takers, or shed salaries so they can match offers on him next year. The Kings want Thornton and JT gone because of contracts and salary cap concerns. Almost doesn't matter what they get back in return.

Been saying this all-season, Jarett Jack is Malone's favorite. He will find a way get Jack.

IT, JT, Outlaw or Jimmer might be gone before the trade deadline.
I'll wait...But one thing is clear, PDA is not scared to shake Petrie's left overs for Malone-type of players.
