Knicks offered Shumpert/Felton for Collison (Clips) and something else minor, surely we could offer something similar I will take Feltons awful play to get Shumpert if we can move Outlaw with something else in the deal.

It sucks the kings don't have much valuable assets other than IT and Ben. I think Ben is our starting SG for the future.. I wouldn't want Shumpert..

Knicks are desperate (not sure if that word is strong enough) for an upgrade at point guard. They have been laughed away from Lowry, Teague and Rondo so far. Collison is the latest target for them.

What about Tyson Chandler and Beno for IT, Terry, and Landry. It works on the Trade Machine. If we can't deal Terry, DWill has a similar contract. If they don't want Landry, JT could fit the bill (though JT makes sense as a perfect third big behind Cousins and Chandler)

Chandler is a huge contract, but he has only two years, so you shed two years off of the Landry commitment at the time you need the money to resign Gay. Chandler seems like a great fit next to Cousins and Gay. Sure, you are short in the backcourt, but Beno can serve out the year with Ben, Jimmer, and Ray, and you can address that in the draft or free agency.

I semi-thought of that before saying, nahhh. Aside from adding our THIRD max contract, New York is utterly dependent on Chandler for defense. I doubt they have forgotten so fast. Never know what Dolan is saying behind the scenes though.

We "can" trade Terry, but not like that. Terry can't be packaged with any other King for... I want to say thirty days?

I guess my reply to the 3 max contracts issue is that Chandler's max deal is equal to the combined salaries of Landry and Jet. In essence, we are paying Landry and Jet a max contract to provide a total of 30 minutes a night off the bench. I would rather have a Chandler max than a Landry/Jet max. Plus, Chandler has one more year after this one, Landry has 3 more. If Chandler doesn't work out, you have nearly $35 million in expirings between he and Gay next year, not to mention another $11 million in expirings between DWill, Outlaw, Acy, and Evans. That allows you to be very active and go a lot of different ways at the deadline if Chandler doesn't work out.

As to not being able to trade Jet, he has an identical contract to DWill, and New York may be more interested in a Landry, Dwill, IT offer anyway. It makes more sense from our roster balance standpoint as well, since it removes another PF and keeps an extra guard.

I don't think we are making anymore trades.
I would be very surprised if Jimmer was a King on Friday. I expect that the Kings are selling to the highest bidder, but if push came to shove, they would give him to OKC for the trade exceptions they are waving around like they mean something.

Why would we do that (for trade exceptions)?

Jimmer has shown tremendous improvement lately, so I'd be surprised if he is moved.

Worst case scenario - Kings trade Jimmer for long-term contract dollars.

Second worst case scenario - Jimmer walks and Kings get nothing in return.

Trade exceptions are an extreme example, but they do at least have some usefulness for a team active in the trade market. Better than getting absolutely nothing out of the 2011 draft pick.

So Malone was quoted as saying this is a great opportunity(MT trade) for Ben to play big mins the final 29 games.

I however think Ben pairs worse with IT than any PG/ballhandler we've thrown out there this year. Vasquez did a better job setting up Ben. Jimmer has done a better job setting up Ben. Rudy when handling has done a better job finding Ben. DWill in transition has done a better job finding Ben. Even Salmons did a better job finding him. Seems like it would be a failed strategy to throw Ben back into the starting lineup for major mins next to the PG who looks him off even opportunity he gets.

And this doesn't mean I'm high or not high on Ben. Ideally he's not starting. Point is, if developing him further the next 29 games with big mins is a priority set forth by the organization, they better get a better PG to line up next to him by tomorrow night.

I think Ben watches when he is with IT. IT needs to do way better distributing to the off -guard and remember he isn't in that roll.

I could understand Cleveland thinking Deng might bolt and wanting to swap him for Gay, who would be likely to stay unless he, too, opts out. Do we do that deal, though? Deng's a much better defender, but a little over a year older, and a free agent this summer.
I kinda wanna see what Gay and Cousins do together after a full training camp, and some stability. We'd have
the same head coach and system next year, which would be a great start.

I'm an IT fan but it will be weird if jimmer leaves.
If IT is traded and Jimmer stays... Jimmer/Kings fans will explode..

Does anyone see Jimmer actually being traded? I think the FO probably wants at least a 2nd rounder, but I don't think teams are willing to give up on one. There's a high possibility of Jimmer staying and just walking at the end of the season.

Really? Everybody on this stupid board wanted Thornton gone and voila. He's gone. Do you think we were gonna get LBJ or Durant for our pouty-faced guard?

THE KINGS ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS. The team we see today or next week or even at the beginning of next season is not going to be the perfect team. It's gonna take time to do what needs to be done because, as much as some of you don't want to accept it, we don't have a lot of tasty morsels out there to dangle in front of potential trade partners.

Give the front office a freaking chance.
Not sure what people are expecting. We got Rudy Gay for next to nothing, but that kind of deal doesn't
happen every two months, guys. If we aren't at least trading IT, then i dont see how anyone here could be expecting
some jaw dropping acquisition.

Yahoo reported that several teams were interested in Jimmer earlier today. Maybe Yahoo source was Jimmer's agent.

Our FO is interested in trading Jimmer, but we want value in return. The least I'd take is a 2nd rounder. I wouldn't want medicore players or vets who have long term contracts.. if Maloofs were still here, they'd trade Jimmer for "cash considerations"

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN has learned Cavs are in talks w/Sacramento on deal to swap Jarrett Jack for Jason Thompson. BUT Cavs looking for third team to route JT

@ESPNSteinLine: As talks currently stand, I'm told Cavs NOT inclined to send Jarrett Jack to Sacramento UNLESS they find third team to take Jason Thompson

I don't love that. Not in a vacuum. JT is better, younger, and cheaper than Jack, and I actually like Jack.

Jason terry and Reggie Evans is certainly jaw dropping. I thought Terry died two seasons ago.

I'm just impressed at how little we got and how little we really saved financially.

I expect moves that make some sort of sense. I'm scratching my head on this one. Actually, what makes sense is this as a tanking move. That's the only way. Even then, we could have least got one expiring this season. It does nothing for us on the court. The one potential plus is severely hampered because Ben gets time with a selfish pg that does nothing for him. So that's the most disappointing thing here. Ben doesn't exist with our pg on the floor. If all he gets is MTs allotment of 7 shots, it's a waste.

It's a trade only a salary cap fan could love.

As espn said, if either Terry or Evans are in the kings rotation next year, that'd be a very bad sign. This wasn't a basketball move. Pure cost cutting in the hopes of being able to cut even more next season.

I'm just hoping rumors of a Jack trade doesn't come to fruition.

I like how Malone is collecting tough guys in every trade.
Acy from Toronto and now Evans from Brooklyn.

Sooner or later teams might starting protesting playing against the Kings for every player thrown to the floor at least every other game. :)
