The Kings should look to get
Kyle O'Quinn

Already better than JT only 23 and on an IT contract

He got 6 blocks in 20 mins for magic tonight and constantly is a hustler on defense getting blocks and steals everywhere on court
He's like a superman version of Quincy Acy

Maybe throw him in the deal if we go after Arron Afflalo

Larry Sanders picking up his play last 5 games; 13ppg, 10rpg, 2bpg
He was also playing against two teams with absolutely no frontcourt whatsoever (ORL and Phoenix), fouled out against the mighty Knicks, and didn't look super spectacular against the one legitimate frontline of that stretch in the Grizz.

Get O'Quinn on the cheap? Sure. But why would Orlando give up him. Young player with cheap contract, playing for a young team... If Orlando drops him this summer, sure pick him up, but trading something of value...And funny about him being better than JT. He played at home versus a team, that cannot score outside of paint. Just camp inside and wait, when they come to get blocked. Should really look at him, when they play decent teams.

Knicks are likely sellers at this point. Their point guard situation is a mess, but they have a couple of serviceable backups we might be able to get. I have no idea if Shumpert is still on the trade block, but Jimmer for Shumpert and Beno works salary wise.

There's also a decent chance that the Knicks could go into fire sale mode before the deadline as Carmelo is increasingly likely to jump off that burning ship and they need to dump salary and get draft picks any way possible. I'd love to wrangle Tyson Chandler away from them.

Cavs just fired their GM. This could affect the market instantly.
Malone likes Jack. So I wonder if we make an offer to the Cavs before trade deadline.
I hope not.. then that would mean we're really picking up after the Warriors... coincidence by any chance? Hell, even our proposed arena has similar concepts as theirs....

Adding another thug with a mean beard on the team I like it, although I don't think he's a shot blocker nor did he ever strike me as a good athlete.

Except their arena designs (a) came after ours and (b) are probably not going to be built.
nope the GSW have been designing their arena far before Vivek became our owner.

here's the images of their 1st arena rendering in Oct of 2012:

compared to our first in April of 2013: http://nba.si.com/2013/04/24/sacramento-kings-arena-photos-downtown-plaza-seattle-supersonics/

which for some reason look alike..

Then here's the GSW's new renderings from Nov of 2013.

Then the kings new renderings from last month 2014.

They look shockingly similar.. I think Vivek tried to take as much of the Warriors with him as he could..

If anything, the Warriors now defunct arena design has more in common with the old rail yard plan than the current one.

I don't really see five-story tall hangar doors working in San Francisco either.

Only way I even consider taking Jack if they take Thornton and Outlaw back. Even then, I don't know.

The hope would obviously be that Jack comes over here and plays well under Malone.

Either that or they send us over Varejao. Thornton and Thompson for Jack and AV works. We might need to send them a little more value to make it work.

If anything, his ceiling is as a shorter version of a rich man's Aaron Gray.
Yeah because he's only in his second season in the NBA and already has a better career stay line than Aaron Gray

He has a high upside especially on defense
In college, he was named defensive player of the year for two consecutive seasons
He's extremely efficient on defense and gets the job done.
He's also averaging 3.5 blocks or so per 48 mins which is in the top 5 in the NBA
So, he's def a shotblocker
I can't wait till he proves people wrong

They look shockingly similar? How so? Because both are round?

Arenas for basketball tend to look alike. And 'things' Warriors are great for me, at least I have been closer to them than anyone else in the league. In truth I don't care much what they look like on the outside. Inside is another matter.

I nearly said the same thing. Then I clicked through enough and finally found one drawing that has an open-ended upper bowl that looks out on the Bay. That, obviously, is a similarity. I'm not sure anything else is more than a coincidence, but if our claim to novelty on this arena is going to be "Open-ended upper bowl looking out on plaza with openable hangar doors", well, at least it will be completed before the SF arena. Otherwise the claim to novelty would be "Openable hangar doors", and that's not nearly got the same cachet.

The we both screwed up trade:
Josh Smith/Chauncey Billups for Landry/Thornton

Thornton can play at the 2 and Singler/Pope-Caldwell can move to the 3. Landry would fit well next to Drummond. Save some cash.
The Kings take a risk with the player who can be perfect next to Cuz at the 4. Billups has been terrible, but he's a vet who plays tough D and can handle the ball.

The Kings will end up paying 15 million more over the next 4 years for the privilege of seeing if Smith can get his head on straight. Josh Smith takes 3 more shots per 36 min than MT. Figure he and IT dial it back a bit and it might work.
Boom or bust.

And the Kings would do this WHY ? Take on more money contractually and end up with less ?

I would not mind finding out if Billups can still dish and defend. Smith on the other hand needs the ball. The kind of players the Kings need to add are hard nosed defensive studs and players that make Cuz and Gay better.

Billups is totally and completely done.

And Josh Smith is totally and completely the wrong guy for us now that we have Gay. Even if we didn't have IT the extreme overcrowding of the frontcourt shot chart would drive DeMarcus to drink.

The guy for that PF spot should score 8-12ppg in the end. You find me a guy who gives me 10pts 10rebs and 2blks a night, and I'm thinking jackpot. find me a guy who wants 15 shots a game on a max contract and I'm not amused.

Pacers are reportedly looking for some additional bench scoring, while attempting to preserve/free up cap space to resign Stephenson in the offseason. They have been linked to interest in Jimmer earlier in the year. There are a few deep bench guys that might fit a need for the Kings who aren't getting any play time in Indiana. Chris Copeland and either Rasual Butler, Orlando Johnson, or Donald Sloan work salary wise. While none of those guys jump out at you as impact players, I'm of the opinion that you have to trade Jimmer for whatever you can get rather than just letting him walk in the summer.

Alternatively, Kings could get the Pacers second rounder and hope to strike gold with the likely 60th pick.
