Kings active in trade talks?

I understand that he had a rough start to the season, but looking at his advanced stats, Sanders' play dropped a level or two compared to last season: below average rebounder, lowest block rate while still being foul prone, pathetic offense. Maybe off-season deal, when it becomes clearer, what player you are going to pay $11 million per for the next 4 years.

Plus his price on the trade market might really plummet depending on what the Bucks do in the draft.

Agree, It's too soon to know if we are going to get last years Sanders or some aberration of last years Sanders. 11m is too much to pay when you don't know what you're really going to get, unless of course we can shed the same years/salary, but if it's just swapping Sanders for a couple ending contracts of ours then I wouldn't bite just yet.

Isn't that something to do with 2nd round picks? I don't understand the analogy.
No, the Poison Pill applies to players in the last year of their rookie contracts who got a big summer extension but whose current salary cap hit is "cheap". Basically, the outgoing team only gets to count the current salary (for Milwaukee Sanders = ~$3M), but the incoming team has to count the average salary (for Sacramento Sanders = ~$9.5M). Basically it makes salary matching harder because both teams are getting "increases" in salary. Basically we'd have to send about $10M out, and Milwaukee would have to send Sanders + $4M back and it would work, but there's no way to do a deal straight up.

It's been mentioned already before, but I'd really prefer the Kings go after Biyombo. I feel he'd be easier to trade for and has much less risk associated with him. He's also 4 years younger than Sanders without being a headache at the same time.

Have you seen Biyombo play. The guy is terrible!!!!!!! I want no part of him. He has no feel for the game of basketball. Trust me, they would trade him for a bag of chips.

the Captain already explained it correctly. the whole issue got obfuscated with the contracts of Asik and Lin, which are poisonous in another way, which lead to confusion about the terminology. rule of thumb is that it's really, really hard to trade for players still on their rookie contracts that have already received their extension.

I just checked out who will be a free agent in 2015.... boy oh boy
For one, a bundle of PG's such as Rubio and Irving who might be unsettled at their team come 2015 either salary or personal issues.
Assuming Thornton stays, he'll be a free agent so that's 8 million free space cleared up and getting rid of a couple other contracts like Outlaw gives us the opportunity to sign one more star quality player.
If we also drafted a Wiggins or Parker by some chance then there goes 19 more million free cap space giving up Gay.
Derrick Williams is another player that might be gone by then (8 mill).
Anthony Davis and Kevin Love free agents at that time as well. (IMAGINE Cousins and A. Davis *ooozing*)
Henson is another intriguing prospect.
Andre Drummond anyone?

We aren't Miami or LA...... clearing cap space to try and sign stars isn't very smart IMO

We had Bismack and then traded him for Jimmer ;)

All joking aside, no thanks.. Don't want any part of Bismack.

We've bashed Petrie enough here so I think he deserves some credit for not actually picking Biyombo. I don't want to say he's a lost cause but he makes Hasheem Thabeet look like a good draft pick.

Waiters did not travel to LA due to another lockeroom event after our beatdown of them, offer Mclemore for Waiter PLEASE everyone says he's a chucker who can't D but guess what prior to playing with Cousins,Gay and Williams were labelled the same thing.

This gives us a replacment for if Thomas wants to much money as well next year and he's a massive upgrade of MT..

First off, NO.

Second, how exactly does a chucking SG give us a replacement for an undersized PG?

He isn't a chucket I've watched 90% of cavs game. He gets to the rim at will and is a very good passer who plays defense. His issues in the past was that mike brown didn't hold kyrie accountable for his actions on the defensive side of the court and that kyrie/thompson play buddy ball. Kid can play trust me a waiters/DMC pick and roll would be great.

Waiters is playing vs the lakers by the way

Uh, no. The knocks on Waiters with regards to his selfish play and tendency to float on d are pretty well documented.

I'd go for Waiters for MT only.
