[Game] Kings @ Heat 12/20/13 - 4:30 pm PST

This is what Miami does to teams like us. Reminds me of when boxers try to make it a brawl with fighters like Marquez and get knocked out by the champ.

I like how Aaron Bruski has been trying to put the defensive blame on Cousins and JT ever since people started noticing how bad his precious Pizza Guy is on defense.

It's these types of games which really should point out to basketball fans that no matter how good and efficient your offense is...if you can't play defense you can't win against good teams.

To be fair, Cousins' defense has been poor tonight, but he has no business being asked to guard a power forward in the first place. Thompson's defense hasn't been great, but it's been as good as you could expect, given that he's being asked to check a perimeter-oriented small forward.

The Heat are a nightmare matchup, defensively, for Sacramento. The two players were we can match them for size/athleticism, they happen to have the best player in the world, and a Top 3 player at his position.

EDIT - Before the Thomas fans start foaming at the mouth, let me elaborate: it was all well, and to the good, when Thomas wasn't making the interior passes to Cousins, because other players on the floor were. What has since happened was that two of the guys who got the ball to Cousins got traded, one of them got benched, and the other only gets to play in limited minutes.

So, all of a sudden, all of the guys who were feeding Cousins the ball are no longer available to feed him the ball, which makes Thomas (who is, ostensibly, the point guard) not getting him the ball that much more noticeable.
Cousins has gotten 15 shots so far, and I've seen Thomas get him the ball plenty of times. No one is freezing Cousins out on offense.

We've all seen Thomas try and do to much on offense to the detriment of the team, but I don't think tonight is a really good example.

If we lose tonight it is because our defense has been putrid.

im talking talking about this game, he has been blaming all of the Kings recent defensive struggles on the big men
Well, it's there fault too. Tonight should prove that. Miami got essentially nothing out of their PG play where our "defensive hole" is and they still trounce us for 120.

Eventually, you and others might figure out that defense is not on a single individual. It takes all 5 guys
