Kings active in trade talks?

All the IT trade talk but does anyone think trading one of the who actually has has the ear and trust of our franchise center is a good idea? The NBA is buisness first but im sure that would a negative impact oon the court.

I know we have to make moves to get better but we really get enough back by trading away our only consistent backcourt player? Outside of seeing if Rondo is avaliable idk

He's 40 years younger than I am. :) 41 coming on 42 if you want to be picky. BTW, there is an N'Daiye who is 7'6" guy at UC Irvine with an 8'1" wingspan. Is he a relative or is N'daiye as common in Senegal as Lopez or Johnson around here?
I thnk its just a common name there. Too damm many of them to all be from the same family. I think there's around 6 or 7 N'Daiye's playing college ball right now. The only one of significance is the one you just mentioned playing at U.C. Irvine.

You'll never get fair compensation for IT because of his contract. So it's simple really. You don't trade him. IT is easily the best bargain contract in the NBA currently. Not even close. So straight up deals aren't in question for him because we can't take back salary.
I would figure that IT will only be dealt either for a very good draft pick (so no salary cap implications) or packaged with a contract we want to get rid of. IT alone...the only remotely comparable contract I can think of is Chandler Parsons.

Hmm, what exactly do you think a guy on a contract a little over 800K can yield in a trade? What value can IT being back on that contract which this board is apparently clueless about?
Talent wise, IT has tremendous value, but salary wise, not so. The only way you could get value for IT would be to package him with a big salary you don't want, with IT being the key piece despite his salary. For instance, the Bulls are in need of someone to pick up the pieces left behind by Rose. So maybe you package IT along with Thornton for Deng. Don't know if the salaries work or not, just using it as an example.

I am always interested in guys with his measurements although they frequently aren't terribly athletic. Just the same, a guy who can probably dunk the ball on his tip toes who has an interest in basketball can't be ignored. Can't remember who posted the note that said he would be drafted and at that would be a project is probably correct. If he has any endurance, he will have a career more lucrative than staying in Senegal (can't keep the countries straight). Might take a whole lot of effort to build up muscles but then all I have seen is one picture and no videos. Time to check out Youtube I suppose.

Well, now you're getting more into the value of other players, not just IT.

So give me some examples. IT packaged with who will get us what, exactly?

Since this board was accused of being clueless about IT's value, I'd like to see this clear, apparent value he has which some are oblivious too.

IT paired with any of:
Salmons
Chuck
PP
Landry
Jimmer
Outlaw
MT
Vasquez

would get us a clearly better player than Shumpert? If the only example is going to a an IT/JT package, that isn't clear value that some are clueless too and has as much to do with JT's value vs the rest as it does IT's. But I'm interested in this value which some can't or don't see.
I certainly have no one in mind but if you assume that IT is worth a contract of $5-6 mil a year (don't yell at me) trade for someone using Hayes and get a guy at that level. I'm not so sure I'd be in a hurry to trade IT because he fits a lot of the definition of who I think a lot of people want to keep.

Bear in mind that he weighs 290 pounds, so its not as though he's a walking toothpick. He's actually pretty athletic and like Embiid, is late to the game of basketball. So far he's shown a good feel for the game, and was a big part of U.C. Irvine upsetting Washington a couple of weeks ago. In short, he's shown some potential.

I posted above. His playing weight was in the low 200's
I have seen a couple web sites that list him as 200 pounds but I doubt it as I remember more like 220 or so. He wouldn't be able to walk at 200 pounds. Anyway, here's a video of his 6'5" 7th grade son. His parents and grand parents were very tall if you believe the stats that are claimed. It must mean that scouts keep track of Dinka tribesmen or sure should.

RIP Manute. He was unique and definitely had a sense of humor. I don't remember his 3 pt % and it isn't important but he was allowed to take 3 pt attempts.

Like Baja said, if I was going to include IT, I'd try to package him with all of our bad deals. Haven't thought this thru at all but something like:

IT
MT
Hayes
Outlaw

for

Deng
Hinrich
Snell

Chicago patches up their backcourt for the rest of the year and we get expirings plus a young guy we liked. Highly unlikely anyone is going to want to tie up too much salary next year for those kinds of guys but it's where I could see IT included in something larger.

I don't believe we are going to get rid of IT, but of course that contract is a major reason why we could. He can be a great accelerator to a major deal because you can throw him on top of just about any other package you have to give it a major talent boost.

And of course that contract is only a bargain until the end of the year. Be interesting to see what we would have to pay to keep him.

Btw cards used to be cool. You knew what they were worth thanks to Beckett. Now they are minted and gem minted and insert cards. It all sucks now. My favs are joe Montana and Jerry rice rookies.

Re: Bulls Might Now Be More Likely To Trade Luol Deng
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=1285952#p37617293

So we called them for deng as well as the nets, lakers, and cavs
If this is true, and that is a big if, we just need to get used to the way PDA does business... We will likely be in A LOT of trade scenarios because he will just make every last call.. Deng would be completely against the direction I see this team going and I wouldn't think we would seriously be entertaining him unless it was some type of three way or whatever scenario where we still end up young, flexible and not competing now

I think when Manute played for Nellie he had the green light. Of course back then it seemed everyone that played for Nellie had the green light:)

Check out this video. Manute was the ULTIMATE 3 and D player:)

Taj Gibson/Kirk Hinrich for Patterson, Vasquez and Thornton

Bulls get a scorer they been looking for in Thornton(to help next season when D-Rose comes back), Vasquez to fill in while Rose is out and Patterson can be nicely paired with Noah, we get the perfect fit next to Cousins and a PG for 1 year who can actually play good defence and everyone now and than get into the lane off the bounce while we wait for either a PG in the draft or Ray to develop.

I'd do it. Don't know if the Bulls would given Vasquez's extreme uselessness once Rose comes back.

One issue for us though is we've started to pile up some extremely bad ballhandlers at the wings. Having less than a pure PG out there gets more difficult with McLemore and DWill as your 2/3. that's a bottom 5, and legitimately maybe the absolute worst, 2/3 pairing in the league when it comes to ballhandling ability.

Bulls arnt giving up snell and deng for a terrible offer like that
You'd be surprised the kind of deals you can get when teams are being blown up. The Bulls might be blown up because of the Rose injury. Not sure if Rose will ever be able to play, and if he does then it will be at a very reduced effectiveness.

As for what I would like, we should be looking at Jordan Hamilton on the Nuggets. This guy can shoot and he has good size for a SF. He's getting about 20mins a game and averaging about 9ppg. Denver has a BUNCH of SFs so they might be able to get rid of one of them on the cheap.

I would also like to explore whether or not the Bulls are willing to part ways with Noah or Boozer. Toss in IT (they need a PG and IT is cheap) and a couple of ending salaries (which teams will usually take on ending salaries if they are blowing the team up). See if Utah is willing to get rid of Favors. If the team is going to be terrible, they should at least sell tickets, and Jimmer would sell tickets, so from a financial POV it makes sense. So maybe Jimmer, and JT (and maybe a future 1st round pick) for Favors. I doubt they would do that but teams get desperate when they suck AND aren't selling tickets. Jimmer would fill the arena and at least give them some $$$ when they're terrible.

I would do that without blinking, so it is probably not so great for the Bulls. They are giving up the best player, while taking back more salary.

More realistic is IT/Patterson/MT. It's a deal you have to look a little harder at as a Kings fan, but I would still do.
IT will be getting some cash next year. They have a cheap young backup under contract, so if IT is not a starter, you don't outbid for him.

Gibson isn't perfect, but fits next to Cuz. He can slip back into an offense/defense combo when Landry comes back.
Hinrich does the same with Vasquez, offense/defense, maybe teaches Ray and Ben some things. Hinrich also makes Jimmer more tolerable at the 2.

He had a use on the court, he was a good man, and at times, he was hilarious. Manute Bol was one player that I will remember for all the right reasons.

Vasquez is an ender this year. I don't see him as being a problem in the deal.

Bulls are still pretty high on Gibson. There is a compelling case that he is a better 4 than Boozer at everything except scoring, which means that Boozer may be expendable if they can pick up scoring at the 2 or 5 to replace him. Had Thornton started out the year better, this might have been a realistic option.
