Well I suppose at least you are consistent -- if you are not going to recognize the necessity of a rebuild in the first place, no reason not to become instantly impatient and want to short circuit it as soon as we start, right?
What you don't understand with all the standard "winning is the demeanor of any real team" nonsense, is you're not trying to win. Or rather not understanding how to win. You might as well paint a big ole L on your forehead, walk into a prison shower and pick up a bar of soap. There are rules and tactics to every game. And none of them, and I mean basically none of them, involve constantly charging forward as hard as you can for every instant and every moment. The very essence of tactics is knowing how to conserve your strength, how to build it, and how and when to apply it. What you suggest is nothing more nor less than fool's gold. There is a reason that substance garnered its name.
Now is the time to build strength. To take a break and develop players and acquire assets. That is what a rebuild is. Done well, and with cap room maintained, in two years we will be maybe be ready to make some noise again. Done poorly, half assed and short circuited by impatience, we never will.
