The point a minute man in New Orleans. Ive seen and watchd him develop since his time at a tiger at LSU. He was a fan favorite during his time in New Orleans. Whenever hes in he scores. If given the playing time he will average over 20 a game for yall. Monty and Thornton just didnt see eye to eye and I have feeling hornets fans will look back and shake their heads at that. Thornton is a great young player and yall should be excited to get him. While Im excited to get Landry I know Ill miss Thornton.

Thanks for stopping by and posting. I hope that we soon come to feel the same way about Marcus. With all the arena / team moving issues swirling around until March 1, this is one of those topics that unfortunately might get inadvertently shoved to the back burner, at least as far as posting topics and outward interest. Not necessarily because of the players involved, but because those are much bigger issues for those of us who love the Kings in Sacramento.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate input from someone who has actually seen him. He'll fit nicely with another low paid guy we have that may or may not strike it big, Taylor.

Thx for stopping by. Eventually, these people will love Thornton. Here, let me give you a synopsis of Kings fans:

"We need a shooter. We have too many bigs. Lets package one of them for a young shooter"

"Why would we trade Landry for Thornton? I know nothing about the NBA outside of Sacramento, what does this guy do?"

Thanks for your input homie. Love the southern slang too btw. Makes me miss good ole Big Easy.

I don't think I've ever agreed with you more. ;)

That's true, but he has two big liabilities. One is that he has trouble on the defensive side of the ball, which is a big reason why Monty cut him loose. Also, if he isn't hitting, he's clanking and useless. So unless MT5 is lighting it up, he is totally useless out there.

Thornton reminds a little of Jason Terry, without the midrange game. Can score with the ball, but better off the ball. He should really be able to provide a scoring punch for us, and help spread the floor. Catching and shooting seems to be his strength, whether stand still at the 3pt line, or running of screens. He made the 2nd all rookie team last year to. If someone told me before the 2009 draft we would get Tyreke, Omri, and Thornton, I would have been a very happy man. Of the 2009 draft was done again, all 3 would go in the top 12-15. Not bad at all. All young, all have upside.
