If he doesn't want to be in Milwaukee why would he want to come to Sacramento? Because we are close to the Bay Area? Were the Kings "permitted to attend" his workouts?
If they do trade him, one would think that they would have better options to choose from than what we have to offer.
We were one of the teams that got approved.
Now, uncertain how much that means given that now the entire league will be in play and who knows there may be new attempts to force him to a good, high profile team ow whatever. But still , Sacto was approved. Is West Coast, close to the Bay Area, and I will remark again, is a franchise that in the recent past was very prominent internationally and even toured China with Yao.
In any case, here Milkwaulkee's current contracts (I have highlighted the ones of interest):
OG -- Redd $14.5mil 4yrs
SF -- Simmons $9.3mil 3yrs
PF/C -- Skinner $5.9mil (ender, if Milwaulkee picks up option , otherwise he's a free agent)
PF/C --Gadzuric $5.8mil 4yrs
C -- Bogut $5.0mil 2 yrs
PF -- Villanueva $2.7mil 2 yrs
PG -- Greer $0.8mil (ender)
SF -- Noel $0.7mil (ender)
PF -- Markota $0.7mil (ender)
1st round pick #6 -- PF/C Yi
2nd round pick #56 -- PG Ramon Sessions
Free agents:
PG -- Boykins
PG -- Williams
PG -- Bell
SF -- Ilyasova
SF -- Patterson
Okay, why do I list all that? Well let's play a game called "score a Yi". What do we know:
1) the Bucks have been a soft pansy-*** organization playing wimpy small ball, and their roster has been choked to death with PGs, SFs and soft bigs
2) BUT, almsot all of those PGs and SFs have become free agents all at once. Other than a late 2nd round pick and some scrubs, the only significant player at those positions still on their roster is Bobby Simmons, coming off of a season ending injury, and signed to a big contract.
3) You have to assume they want to hold onto Bogut/Villanueva. You also have to assume (ahem) that they want to hold onto Redd. Again, that is their C/PF/OG. Leaving SF and PG.
4) They have one bad contract (Gadzuric) that they might just want to move now. If Simmons is not 100% recovered, he might be a bad contract too.
5) We happen to have two very eligible veterans of significance who play EXACTLY the positions that the Bucks are now lacking. (PG and SF). They could for instance get themselves Ron Artest for free -- the #6 and Skinner (by picking up his deal). Or they could also get him by going #6 and Gadzuric if they wanted out of that contract. They could get Bibby by reupping Skinners deal and adding in Gadzuric. Or by going with Simmons and one or more scrubs. They could get real splashy and take BOTH players by combining Simmons and reupping skinner and Gadzuric. Thus clearing all their contracts at once.
