Season Summary:
This will be known as the season, Reggie Evans officially got old. Reggie had an average season by his standards. Led the team in rebounds per minute (shocker), actually cracked 60+ FT% for the first time in his career, and had the second best +/- off the bench behind Andre Miller. (-0.07 vs -0.06). Also interestingly enough was the second most likely player to pass the ball behind Andre Miller (78% vs 80%). However, he was no longer able to defend. Players shot an average of 6.6% better against Reggie than their average, worst on the team. (Even worse than Stauskas.) Also he was one of the worst in the league on scoring on put backs.

Advanced Stats Glossary:
T_MIN = Total Minutes. The seconds are converted to decimal values out of a 100 to make querying easier.
DIFF/MIN = Differential per Minute
T_DIFF = Total Differential
REB/MIN = Rebounds per Minute
UFG% = Unguarded Field Goal Percentage. Unguarded means there is no one within 3.5 feet.
CFG% = Contested Field Goal Percentage. There is at least one defender within 3.5 feet.
DFG% = Field Goals defended at rim percentage.
AT_RATIO = Assist to Turnover ratio. This includes passes that lead to free throws and the pass that lead to an assist, so it will seems inflated.

Player Comparison:
I decided to compare Reggie to Brandon Bass since they have similar rebounding number, they are the same size and Brandon Bass has been in potential trade threads. From the stats you can see Reggie no longer has the strength to defend in the post or score on put backs.

Season Highlight:
12-08-14 VS Utah
This was the game we won without Cousins because they played Kantner 30+ minutes. Reggie started the game and had 13 boards and we outrebounded the Jazz by 10.

Season Lowlight:
12-05-14 VS Indiana
This was the Landry put back game. I went with this one even though we won, because A) He missed all of his shots and free throws B) Only tallied 7 boards in 25 minutes (worst of the season) C) Had the worst +/- at -16.
Code:
Min FGM FGA FG% 3PM 3PA 3PT% FTM FTA FT% Off Def Reb Ast TO Stl Blk PF Pts

Next Steps:
Possibly coaching, I wouldn’t mind having him around as Cousins personal assistant/motivator.

Possible Replacement:
Again, I hope all his minutes get absorbed by Eric Moreland or (Towns, fingers crossed)

Season Grade:
C, Reggie did his best and was a good for morale. However, again we just needed too many minutes out of him.

General Manager Grade:
B, getting a useful veteran in a salary dump gets you a B. Of course pulling one over on Billy King might is the GM equivalent of tripping over your own feet.

61.1% for opponents field goal percentage in the post. 64.60% Score frequency

I do wonder if some of that was because he was guarding centers instead of power forwards more so this past season.

But Father Time is indeed sad.

I still think Reggie can and should play another season, he is still tough, can still rebound, maybe just play a lot more of a selective role deeper on the bench.

Loved every moment of Reggie's time here, despite his flaws dude is a flat out warrior and I still think he could help a number of playoff teams as a reverse big man. If this is the last of Reggie we see in Sacramento than thanks for being here Reggie you saved the season (for me anyway) prior to this one with your energy and hustle when you replaced the cancer MT. Reggie is a glowing example of knowing your role and despite not being at all talented he just out worked more talented foes and had a insanely long career cause of it.

Was MT really a disruption in the locker room though? His shooting fell off a cliff but I don't remember him causing disruptions.

No but he was just a no heart ***** on the floor, he was like Derrick Williams always having a bad game

I can remember him having some out this world games with us. While the odds of Evans calling it a career are high he might have something left in the tank. Maybe?

As a 5th big on a playoff team imo he can play 1-2 more years. He can still help a good team with his little bursts and 2nd chances (in particular the way teams jack up 3's) nowadays. I will always remember Reggie for the way he just flipped the series in the Clippers favor against the Grizzlies 3 years ago (maybe 4) with his hustle and scrapping.

BTW about Thornton I was talking about his last 2 years with us I know before that when he was allowed to launch he did have crazy games.

Still like Reggie. Like his one skill. Like his relationship with Cuz. Like his veteran presence. Everybody can't stay, but you could do far worse than having the old banger hang around for one more season as a 5th big.

Someone once asked what position Reggie played. Response was "Professional rebounder". That was Reggie. Period. Plus being great influence. As long as there is a scoring big out with him would be a nice 5th big.
