SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 20 (Ticker) -- Not even a cut above his right eye could keep Mike Bibby from helping the Sacramento Kings from extending their winning streak.

Bibby recorded his second career triple-double by collecting 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists as the Kings posted their sixth straight win with a 123-96 rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"That last rebound was hard to get, I didn't think I was going to get it," Bibby said. "Everybody was trying to let me get the rebound, but it kept going the other way."

With 2:07 remaining in the first quarter, Bibby collided with Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and was cut underneath his eyebrow. After receiving four stitches, Bibby returned in the second quarter.

"That's what he gets being down there with the big trees," said Kings center Brad Miller, who earlier in the week said the guards needed to go after more rebounds.

The injury did not affect Bibby's 3-point shooting as the guard connected for four of Sacramento's season-high 12 baskets from the arc. Bibby's rebound and assist totals matched season highs.

The rest of his teammates were eager to help Bibby, who was well aware of of how close he was to the mark, and pleased for the seven-year guard.

"He was saying, 'Shoot the ball, I need three assists, I need two,'" Miller said. "That's the fun part, when you have a game like this."

"We tried to pour Gatorade on him when he came in the locker room," Kings forward Chris Webbersaid.

After recording his first-career triple-double on Wednesday at Portland, star Cavaliers forward LeBron James was held to just 18 points.

"We had a tough game last night, but we don't want to use that as an excuse," James said. "They started knocking shots off crazy. A team making shots like that, there's nothing you can do. There was no zone defense. They were just icing the pick-and-roll."

Webber scored 11 of his 27 points during an 18-9 run to close out the first half as Sacramento opened a 59-50 advantage. Sacramento sealed the win by outscoring Cleveland, 31-20, in the third quarter en route to a season-high point total.

Sacramento was aggressive defensively and was able to hold the Cavaliers to season lows with two steals and one block.

"It's definitely a key, but we can still improve," said Webber, who had 13 rebounds and two steals. "Our help defense is good but we need to recognize rebound position and I think we'll be better."

Cleveland coach Paul Silas was frustrated by his team's performance.

"The best thing about this game is that it is over," he said.

The Cavaliers also had a scare in the fourth quarter when starting point guard Jeff McInnis left the game with a sprained left ankle.

"It's nothing," McInnis said. "I could have gone back in, but the game was out of reach."

I think the Kings blew their self-confidence :) Peja did some nice work, he really brought his defense on Lebron tonight, i think he had his own way of it, he tried to tire him out by running and shooting on offense, i guess that works.

May all our opponents feel this way after playing us :)

Lighten up;) He didn't NEED the triple double, he played an awesome game without it. The team tried to help him get one, they are pretty rare. What's the big? Think of it as a bonding experience for the team.

Yep, let's just put it as an extra +++ in the team chemistry category!:)

Pretty pathetic if one needs a tripple double so badly to verify an excelent game.

Pathetic is a little harsh, don't you think? I'm not the biggest fan of playing the game to pad your stats either, but triple doubles are hard to come by. He deserved it. I'm sure that if Pedja had 41, and RA left him in the game a little longer to score one more basket so he had a career high, there would be no complaints from your end.

There is no question that he deserved it. It is about the way of getting there.
bringing Pedja into the equation is pathetic as well. This is notabout him at all.

Kef, easy on Piksi, hes our resident pessimist. You need to know him to understand him. Point taken Pik :) Bibby was having fun and his teammates were the ones that mostly wanted him to get the triple-double.

he was close..... so he went for it, as long as he isnt missing shots on the other teams basket to get the last rebound. it cant be that bad, he wasnt hurting the team. if anything he was helping the team, getting them involved and once he got it he left the game....

Killjoy

It's pretty clear that the team was out there having fun. Getting Bibby the triple-double was part of that fun, so why not let them (the team) have it?

Might as well criticize Kevin for the aggresive move in garbagetime to make sure he got in the scorers column, too. [Holy crud! Just double checked the box score -- every single King -- all 12 of them -- scored!!]

How can You compare a what Bibby did with a rookie who has to fight for every single minutes he gets to be on the floor.

When Bibby got his 10th rebound, i remember, webber tried to give it to him by hittin the ball into the air, bibby got it, and made the three, wat a team :)

Well, eflat, go ahead and criticize if that's your thing. The "rookie" doesn't do things "just to get on the board". He is being pushed by RA to be agressive, so I guess you could say, he was following the boss' orders.

If they have to play to pad team mates stats and it allows to play the way they did last night then I say ...DO IT! They were awesome!

all i care is that they won...i really don't care that the guys helped Mike out...its really not a big deal cuz like i said before they won AND they were at sucha large advantage at the time...at least Mike didn't go out there and pull a Ricky Davis

go kings!

Congratulations, Piksi.

It actually took you a lot longer than I thought.
Now thats funny^^ I love Piksis takes as much as anybody but it almost seems like he has gotten more negative as the Webber(er.. I mean winning) streak has continued to grow.

--Seriously though everyone is playing well now... and as good of a game as Webber and Bibby had, I think Pejas performance against Lebron was the biggest Key to the game. The national media was hyping "king james" all day long before that game... Peja really impressed me. By the way, I really don't care how "tired" they said Lebron was... HE'S 20 YEARS OLD!!!!
