Would you make this trade?

No. I wouldn't root for the Kings(and that's saying a lot). That's like going to heaven and inviting the devil with you.

why wouldn't you trade for him? especially if it means giving up 2 players of that caliber. you acquire a good trading chip if it does not work out. 29 other teams in the league would trade starters for this guy.

My thoughts exactly... We could get way more for Kobe then we could with Bibby and Miller. Lakers wouldn't do this though...

Yeah, like the Lakers would even do this... Kobe isn't going to come to Sacramento anyway. Ever.

He wants to go to a contending team and we aren't that. The Lakers would not move him in the Western Conference and if they did, they could get a LOT more than Bibby/Miller.

These kinds of things drive me nuts because they just appear so needy.

"Oh, please, Mr. Bryant. Come grace our lowly team with your presence."

Blech.

In all seriousness, we do not have the means to build a successful team around Kobe Bryant. We pretty much would have him and nothing else. Martin would be redundant since he'd most likely never touch the ball. Artest and Kobe? I envision major problems there. But even if not, we still would have NO frontcourt and no way to complement Bryant's skills. He wouldn't be happy even if someone forced him here.

The answer is of course you would. But its also completely irrelevant since that is so far from what it would take to get Kobe its not funny. Add Kevin in and they might talk. Maybe. Still doubt it. And then there's the little matter of there being absolutely no way in hell the lakers would ever trade Kobe to us, of all teams.
