Would Orlando?

I understand that most on this board would not go ahead with this trade as most are in the DMC is untrade-able camp. However, would Orlando go for it?

Why would Orlando?: Because they get a once in a generation big man who will be a first ballot HOF. A guy who has been an All-Star 2x already. A guy they can build around for the next 10 years or so. They get the significant upgrade in the front court and they only take a slight down-grade at the SG given that they have a strong one on the bench right now.

Why would we?: To go in a very different directions with 2 young guys who show a lot of promise - not pie in the sky promise - but near All-Star level right now. We now have a solid big and a solid SG going forward.

Why would both teams?: Because they have both had disappointing seasons and may want to try something very different.

Orlando, with Vucevic, presents an interesting option if the Kings decide to trade Cousins and re-tool, rather than rebuild. I have no idea what the Magic would be willing to do, though. With Oladipo, Hezonja, Gordon, and matching rights to Fournier, they do seem to have quite a few intriguing young perimeter pieces and might be willing to "cash in" a couple in a package for Cousins.

If, again, if, the Kings decide to trade Cousins, I'd look to the Magic before the Celtics.

I honestly see this as a bad trade for the Kings and I like Oladipo a lot. Just don't see those two guys bringing the same value that Boogie does, and none of them can be considered a player you build around.

Orlando would have to do alot better than that. Throw in Gordon or Hezonia and a pick or two...

If they want to fill the void of losing Shaq all those years, they are going to need to break the bank.

So Orlando would end up with the dominant center they once had and lost when he signed with the Lakers? There's a certain ironic symmetry in that.

Would they? In a heartbeat. Would we? Never in a million years.

I bet even a disgruntled, expiring Cousins could net more than that.

Well, they aren't going to do that. Far too much value, even for Cousins

But any package with Orlando not including Gordon is flat out a loss for us. That's the prize on Orlando and the guy with the potential to be a star in this league.

Yeah, and the Kings would want someone like Gordon to try to sell tickets with Cousins gone.

I'm not going to lie, I am somewhat intrigued by the idea of Tony Bennett coaching with WCS, Gordon, and someone like Luwawu and/or Bender running around defending like mad men.

I would do the trade for Vucavic and Gordon

How in the world is Gordon not included in this?? Dipo/Vuc makes us a worse version of orlando atleast getting Gordon we get a guy with massive potential.

WCS and Gordon defending the paint would be incredibly fun and perfect for the new age game.

WCS
Gordon
Hezonja
2 top 10 picks.

Quite a start to a rebuild

True and you know what Rumor was Chicago called orlando and offered Butler for dipo/Vuc/Gordon/1st. If it was dipo/Vuc/Gordon for DMC I'd turn and offer dipo/vuc/our 1st for Butler.

Butler/Gordon/WCS. YES.

Dip/Gordon/Vucevic and their first this year and I'd think about it. But I'd need a lot of convincing. And still might not pull the trigger on trading DMC.

I have supported Vuc more than most, but you have not watched him at all if you think this would be a remotely good trade.

At this point neither guy is a #1 or a #2 on a good team and time is running out for them to make that argument. Smells like small town Sacto thinking. Give me a couple of 'good guys" rather than a great one. The great Sacto tradition of having nobody who matters, ever.

Vuc can't play defense BTW. pretty sure he just got scored on while I was typing this up.

Dipo is a nice 15ppg 52%TS well rounded guard who numbers this year are spot on his career numbers. 3 years in, that's getting suspicious.

Please remember, the question is "would Orlando do it?"

I am sensing an "of course they would" answer. Is that correct?

I think you can work a decent trade all around with the Magic and another team- something like:

Sacramento gets:
Gordon and Hezonja from the Magic, Omer Asik and NO first round pick from the Pelicans.

Orlando gets:
Cousins (and maybe Gay in a bigger deal)

NO gets:
Vucevic (and maybe Ben)

I think the it's a good fit for New Orleans since Davis can cover for most Vucevic defensive issues and they have potential for beautiful offense together, they will also get to dump Asik bad contract.

We'll get to build around WCS, Gordon, Hezonja and 2 first round picks right now standing at 5 and 6- something along the lines of Dunn/Murray and Brown/Luwawu for example would be nice and we'll give you 5 very young guys to build around.
