Wizards trading Blatche or McGee?

By Mark J. Miller / Scoop Du Jour

The Washington Wizards don't need any more bad publicity. After surviving the nasty guns-in-the-locker-room incident last season with Gilbert Arenas(notes), the Wizards aren't putting up with misbehavior this season. Andray Blatche(notes) and JaVale McGee(notes) were suspended for a game due to a recent incident outside of a nightclub, and sources to HoopsWorld say that the team is asking around to see what it could get in a trade for one or the other.
The 6-11 Blatche is averaging 16.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and .5 blocked shots per game while 7-0 McGee is averaging 9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots.

Maybe this should be in the NBA forum, rather than the Kings one?

I mean, I have a hard time thinking of anything goofier one could do than to get the Kings yet another big, while introducing an apparently crappy role model for an already dicey-seeming Cousins. Those guys are not for us.

Yeah for a moment there I thought The Kings may have actually been adding some talent to the roster. Gave me quite a scare!

LOL UNR Alum here (for onlt a year and a half though) but I do keep up on UNR BBall and McGee is crap. Fazekas was a more complete ball player and he's in the D-League. Not saying McGee belongs there but McGee will not do anything more for this franchise than the players we already have will. Plus, was it you that said McGee plays D in another thread? Can't remember. If not then forgive me, but that quote (whoever said it) filled my day with laughter.

As for Blache.. Eh...

While I'm a Kings fan, I am also a Wizards fan. So I can tell you this much, a lot of Wizard fans want Blatche out of town. He really isn't that bad of a player when he wants to be, the problem is...he's way out of shape, he tends to take a lot of breaks on defense and lacks in the hustling department quite often. You can see why he wouldn't be suited here, but to say he "sucks" is just a bad assessment on you guys. He isn't an "all-star" but he is more than serviceable. He needs to go to a team though where the coaching staff and the personnel can mature him into a player and he needs to put in time in the fitness center.

As for McGee, his problem is he is foul prone and he tends to lack pick and roll defense and tends to drift off on his defensive assignments. Doesn't mean he can't improve and putting up 9, 8 and 2 something blocks in limited minutes is very nice for such a young prospect. He is only going to get better. Plus, the Wizards aren't trading him, I don't see it. If anybody, Blatche is the one to go and he most definently isn't going to be coming here, we don't need him and Cousins getting into fights.
