P.S. I love it how with every rumor or possiblity with Minny, it's said as "Expect this to be announced soon in the next couple weeks" "Expect to see (this player) be offered a deal" "Expect the Wolves to go after (this player) in the coming weeks".

I don't think we do either, but I still love the guy and will follow and watch him just as I did with the Kings where-ever he is in the league. Also, I'd rather have him backing up Bonzi than K-Mart, same for a couple other guys. But wouldn't be disappointed or too weary if he is. I was kidding anyways (hence the tongue face), he's not going back to the vet. min. now.

I have nothing against the guy(MO). He will be an asset to wherever he goes and I'm gonna miss his out "of nowhere offensive rebound alleyoop dunks". But with all the pieces that we have, he won't be given much playing time and I'm sure he's gonna end up complaining about it. But we really need to get Songaila back. He will be a great back-up for SAR. GO KINGS!!!!!

I said I was kidding about getting him back...

But if he did come back here, he would obviously be the back-up for Bonzi. Which is what he'll be for any of the two teams that want him as would of for us, a back-up.

As far as Songaila goes, I'd really like to see him come back, but wouldn't be too disappointed if he goes elsewhere.

Since I don't think it needs a topic, and this already has Wolves discussion... Anthony Carter re-signed with Minny today. Minny now has 14 players under contract, with 2nd round pick Bracey Wright un-signed. Reggie Evans, if he wasn't that likely already, definitely isn't going to Minny now. Unless a S/T is done, but I doubt Seattle wants anything from them, and would rather concentrate on their own bunch of FAs remaining. Including Reggie and Radmanovic, two big keys for them that will decide their depth or starting line-up (PF spot). Flip Murray I don't think comes back to Seattle, and I don't think he gets picked up by Minny now either due to their bunch of guards.

Minnesota Timberwolves Re-Sign Free-Agent Guard Anthony Carter

Minnesota Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale today announced the team has re-signed free-agent guard Anthony Carter. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Anthony is a veteran point guard who has proven his ability to run a team when he's on the court," McHale said. "He excels on the defensive end of the floor and helps to solidify our backcourt."

Carter, a 6-2, 195-pound guard, completed his sixth NBA season in 2004-05 (first in Minnesota), averaging 2.7 ppg (career-best .407 FG%), 2.4 apg and 11.2 mpg in 66 contests (started 12, Wolves 8-4). Carter tallied 13 points April 20 vs. San Antonio, tying his season best (Jan. 8 at Washington, Jan. 19 at the Lakers). He led Minnesota in assists on nine occasions. The University of Hawaii product registered 13 assists and a career-high four blocks March 4 vs. Milwaukee; his 13 assists equaled the most by a Wolves player in 2004-05.

Carter, who went undrafted, has averaged 4.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.9 apg and 19.8 mpg in 317 regular-season contests over six NBA seasons with Miami (1999-2000 - 2002-03), San Antonio (2003-04) and Minnesota (2004-05). He played 48 games for the Yakima Sun Kings of the Continental Basketball Association during the 1998-99 season, averaging 11.6 ppg, 4.4 apg and 2.7 rpg. Carter registered a career-high 15 assists on March 25, 2003 vs. Minnesota while with the Heat. He averaged 6.4 ppg, 3.7 apg, 2.5 rpg and 1.01 spg while playing 22.6 mpg in 72 games during the 2000-01 season. The Atlanta native appeared in 79 games as a rookie (30 starts), averaging 6.3 ppg, 4.8 apg, 2.5 rpg and 1.18 spg while logging 23.5 mpg. He ranked third among all rookies in assists. He registered a career-high 21 points on Dec. 29, 1999 at Orlando.
