Why not both?

if the kings were going to persue artest which i doubt it likely after the brawl fiasco, i don't think it would be now. why would the kings want someone who can't even play. geez they are thin enough as it is, losing probably peja nothing for the rest of this year is not a good idea. i could maybe see that happening over the summer, MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE but during the season?!! i don't think so

even though he's being a pain in the butt right now, i wouldn't mind seeing the kings pick up rafer alston is they could. he'd be a great back up for mike since bobby is out, allowing mike to pace himself for the playoffs minutes wise. i also worry about the heavy minutes load for mike, we can't have him flaming out in the playoffs. just an idea.

WHY?!?!?!?!??

Rafer Alston - another problem case.

People, people, people. Do you really think the solution to all the Kings' problems is to bring nothing but malcontents and troubled players into the fold? Why can't we aim just a little higher? You know, at someone who DOESN'T walk out of practice, doesn't attack fans in the seats, doesn't make the nightly news for his antics and non-professional actions?????

We aren't the last best chance for all the league problem-children. I'd like to see us aim a little higher than the troubled players throughout the league.

Just my three cents, of course...

PLEASE don't tell me someone suggested we trade bobby for marshall. what kinda cruel joke are you playing. PLEASE, we have songaila backing up webb who plays hard every second he's out there. i'm sure we can get some good talent back for bobby. getting marshall for bobby would be an insult to petries skills at negotiating good trades.

so mike isn't totally gassed by the playoffs.

maybe he wouldn't be such a butt on a winning team.

like i said, just an idea.

The problem is that there's a fine line between someone who just isn't happy in their present surroundings and someone who won't be happy no matter where they go.

I look at Rafer and I see someone who came from the streets as far as basketball goes. He's used to it being all about him, and that's how it needed to be then. He doesn't really have a grasp of teamwork, playing as a team, etc. and I think that's been a major problem of his. AND I don't see it changing. I'm not saying he's doing it intentionally or anything - I just don't see him being able to change over into a totally different mindset. It would be like fully expecting Pedja to become a slasher and dunk artist overnight. He has the size, he has the ability - he just doesn't have the mindset.

If Bobby were healthy, maybe. But Marshall is considerably better and more versatle than Darius. We would get better in the short term at least. Don't know if it would be enough, but we'd get a boost on the boards and blocks.

you just stated yourself that Peja is considered a cry-baby around the league by other fans. That my friend is a worse problem than Artest. I agree Alston is not the solution. Maybe you are looking at it through Peja colored glasses because he is a current King. Maybe if we already had Artest and his talents that exceed Peja, and he had the incident you would be ready for his return making up all kinds of excuses the same as we/you tried to do with Peja's trade demand. So you would probably be ranting about how bad it would be to trade Artest for a guy that will probably not be happy unless its in Serbia or at least with Vlade.

Except, Artest CAN'T PLAY. Not this season, anyway. The only way, AT THIS POINT, the Kings even consider this, is if they think they have no shot at anything this year. Maybe some of you are willing to throw in the towel now, begin the shake-up for next year, but some of us aren't quite ready to call it quits.

No, what I posted was a comment from ONE board - PacersDigest - and said it might show that some fans of other teams think Pedja is liable to throw a temper tantrum if he's not happy. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Looking at it through "Peja-colored glasses"? Au contraire. I have been openly critical of Pedja when I thought it was justified, but I am not about to begin bashing him. And if you really think I would justify the actions of someone like Ron Artest, then you don't know ANYTHING about how I feel about this team I've loved for 20 years. Someone like Artest might be okay for the Pacers; he would NOT be okay for the Kings, especially coming here AFTER everything that has happened and hoping against all hope he doesn't take the franchise down with him when his next bad act occurs - and it will.

Pedja has strengths and weaknesses, like virtually every other player in the league. Ron Artest also has strengths and weaknesses. In my estimation you cannot compare the two because Artest's weaknesses have escalated and included physical violence. Pedja may have a lack of focus and may have said some things he could possibly now regret, but at least he hasn't lbeen the lead story on the 6 o'clock news because of his stupidity.
