Given the green light, I'm sure Petrie would have been able to land someone a little more expensive, and ultimately better fitting. However, without that luxury, he has to try and strike gold with middling contracts for middling players, and that, we can all agree, hasn't been successful. At least there isn't an albatross of a contract on the roster. Salmons, while definitely overpaid, won't sink the franchise, but we've been accustomed to being so cheap that we believe it has.
Why is it so hard for this team to find a suitable SF?!?
