Who's your favorite broadcasters?

Thought of this when reading the GN thread. I guess my favorite analyst is Hubie Brown- I love his style, he knows his stuff and he's fun to listen to. Hot Rod Hundley is one of my faves for play-by-play.

So what would be your broadcast team?

Kevin Harlan and Mike Breen are the best basketball broadcasters IMO. My favorite broadcaster overall is Al Michaels (NFL) though

I think today's broadcasters (under 55 years old - Napear is 50) can't hold a candle to most of the old pros of yesteryear and a few still hanging on like Hubie Brown, John Miller, Vin Scully, and one or two others. The late Bill King was the best in Northern Calif I ever heard and he was amazing voice of the Raiders, but also A's and Warriors at various times for decades.

walt frazier.

* "dishing and swishing"
* "swooping and hooping"
* "bounding and astounding"
* "movin' and groovin'"
* "out-muscling and out-hustling"
* "shaking and baking"
* "spinning and winning"
* "posting and toasting"
* "stumbling and bumbling"
* "banking and thanking"
* "hustling and muscling"
* "slicing and dicing!"
* "huffing and puffing"
* "stopping and popping"
* "hanging and banging"
* "It don't mean a thing, If you don't have that swing"
* "The court is 50 feet wide, not wide enough for Houston"
* "[insert player here] beginning to percolate"
* "all the Knicks with the knack tonight"
* "matador D"

point proven.

I think some of the best broadcasting in sports is done by the SF Giants crew. Jon Miller, Duane Kuiper, Mike Krukow and Dave Fleming. The 4 of them together are just entertaining and full of interesting info.

One of the best overall sports programs has to be NBC Sunday Night Football. Very classy and smooth presentation.

Of course, Madden and Summerall back in the day. I'm really not a fan of any NBA broadcasters... Grant and Jerry by default maybe. I really really really miss the NBA on NBC however. Those were easily the best basketball broadcasts personally I've seen.

I have to agree with you about Bill King. He should have been in the hall of fame (broadcasters) a long time ago.
