Garcia, hes a great passer, a good shooter that can attack the rim, his defensive is fluid , and in Louisville they watched tapes of The Kings, he will know what to do with the ball...
I just think we drafted Garcia to start or either trade him. I dont think he is being traded but I do think he will start and be a succesful offensive player.
I think it will be an exciting competition between these three. Mo will start if we don't pick up a FA or trade. Garcia may become the starter fairly quick if he shows something real special.

None of the above - Adelman hates developing young talent - Petrie will deal for a more experienced starter. In some ways I see this as unfortuante since the Kings will not contend next year. Why not develop the kid?

Fans don't have to think their team will win the championship to be good fans. What about all the lottery teams fans? do they think their team can win it all? of course not, they just love their team and hope to meet their goal, whether it be playoffs, or whatever. So are you saying that if the Kings are no longer contenders then you will no longer be a fan? I hope not

I picked Mo, but I think I might want to change that to Francisco.
Will we contend next season? I think there is a good chance if Bibby, Miller, and Peja as well as the Kings orginization are really committed to getting better on D as a whole like they say they are.
I have been watching the Kings for two decades. I sure as hell didn't think they were contenders in 1991. I didn't even think they were contenders this past year. That doesn't mean I can't root for them and enjoy watching them.
You say: "Oh, I thought the reason people watched sports was in the hopes that their team won."
Obviously I hope they win - what the hell do you think? But I'm not going to fool myself into thinking they have a great chance of becoming the 2005-2006 champions. If winning was everything I would be a Spurs fan or a Yankees fan (although not this year, bwahaha). But it isn't and that's why I hate Yankees fans.
You just can't enter '05-06 with a Miller/Thomas/Peja/Garcia/Bibby linuep. You can't. Well, you CAN, and you will likely still be in the playoff hunt. But you won't really matter, and even larger parts of the fanbase will start sloughing off at a critical time.
In any case, if Thomas was cheap and had a better attitude about being a bencher it would be much more reasonable to try to hold onto him. But that damn contract is a killer for a player at his level. If you sign Peja to big money, Peja/Miller/Bibby/Thomas is pretty much your cap. And whoopee.

First, read what the comment I made was about. Then you will see I wasn't speaking for myself. Of course I'll watch. I watched when they never contended. Lottery teams have fans??? I thought those were janitors at the last Hawks game.
