Tracy McGrady. The man came into the league billed as a "new Scottie Pippen"; and he proved that billing correct, as his long arms, basketball intelligence, and quick feet helped him dominate as a defensive, passing second banana playing with Vince Carter and the Raptors.

Of course, once Tracy left as a free-agent to Orlando, and became a 30 ppg scorer, he stopped exhibiting those defensive strengths, but that doesn't mean he doesn't possess them... Along with a proven ability to lead the league in scoring- something Scottie could never have done...
I don't think McGrady is anywhere near as good as Pippen was at passing and playing defense.

Or rebounding.

And judging from Pippen's percentages in his prime (higher almost across the board than McGrady's), I think he had the ability to lead the League in scoring. I don't think he ever really care to, though.

He was also more durable than McGrady has been thus far.

They're both sniveling punks tho.

Tmac by a landslide thus far. He is more athletic and versatile than s. pippen. Pippen also had MJ to tag team with, which probably made his bball life alot easier. Tmac has a far way to prove himself to be a winner, but as far as skills goes, he is top notch and probably only behind kobe at this moment.

Heres a toughy...

Bird or Magic !?

More versatile? No, no, no.

And Pippen shined in the two years that MJ was retired, leading his team in every statistical category as they won 55 games the first year and 47 the second. Pippen was also able to help his team get out of the first round, without Jordan.

He's more athletic, and probably more skilled than Pippen, true. That does not make him a better basketball player, though.

I have to agree with Superman on this one. Pippen was a way better defender, he was one of a few (and the only non-guard) who facilitated the triangle offense well, and he's got too many years of 6 rpg and 6 apg for TMac to stack up with him at this point. He not only carried the 94/95 Bulls, but he was probably the major reason that the 2000 Blazers nearly made it to the Finals. And I don't quite agree that he's any less athletic than McGrady. Pip could flush on anyone and he covered a ton of space on the court. I think his glaring weaknesses were his lack of a pull up jumper (which killed the opportunity to hit game-winners) and his fragile psyche when things weren't going well for him.

I think the Magic/Bird answer depends on who you saw more. In reality, they were peas in a pod.

Maria Sharapova or Anna K. (looks not tennis skill)
Uh oh, male chauvinist territory. You have to go with Anna, of course, but Maria's got both looks and talent over Anna. Maria's voice even sounds like Martina's. She's got a talented voice.

Ravishing Rick Rude or Rowdy Roddy Piper?

Pierce,

The guy can flat out score, whether it's from getting to the line or burying a three in your face. Has great penetration and is one of the best clutch shooters in the game. He's also an underrated passer and defender imo. The only weakness that I see in his game is that he lacks the qualities of a leader and is not very vocal in the locker room. Vince Carter can score too, usually with his flashy dunks and that's about it, he's an erratic shooter and doesn't play defense and is injury prone.

Ben Wallace or Dennis Rodman?

That's not much of a choice at this point b/w RJeff and JRich. If I had to pick I'd take JRich. At least I know what he is going to give me on a crappy team. RJeff has been pumped up by the presence of JKidd since he came into the league, and I'd fear the Marion-esque drop off if he weren't teamed with JKidd, so measuring the two on their own merits, I'd take JRich.

Dirk or KG (this one is for you, Evilmav2).
