grant hill will be a detriment; he is trying to assert himself as the player he used to be but is not any more. mavs were my favorite last year, but their loss in the first round made me question avery johnson. since no fundamental change has been made, i very much doubt mavs' post-season success. what is more, dirk is a tired player now.
spurs, unless tony parker thinks he is all that, would be my favorite to win the west. (rockets will have to prove they can win a series, let alone the whole conference)
in the east, it is still too early. the celtics are a good team but somehow putting three all-stars and hoping they win a championship does not seem to work (lakers, before that rockets, etc.). pistons are the potential upset here. don't care much about cavs. the bulls are not ready, again.
