As a Kings fan I would do that, hell i would even throw in Mclemore and Ray if we could nab Foye as well, I don't see Denver doing that.

Neither were Patterson, Vasquez and Chuck Hayes but yeah Toronto really struggled after he left to lose games.

So in that version of your plan who plays Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan for the Kings?
They aren't an upgrade over Rudy, but they could be an upgrade to the overall team if Gallo is healthy. The key word is IF. I'd do the trade if we knew Gay didn't have intentions on staying here. Mozgov is pretty good though.

Its silly to even talk about trading Rudy. Its not going to happen unless by his request, and all it would do is open up another hole, and have me as Cousins agent actively start preparing his way out of town.

Why was there not a NONE OF THE ABOVE option? We don't have a Legitimate NBA CALIBER starting Power Forward on the roster.

it's so bad that i'm in favor of omri casspi.
- he's the best passer/distributor out of all the options.
- in theory, he's the best floor spacer of all the options.
- ok rebounder; better than derrick williams, carl landry, and rudy gay.
- pretty sure he's taller than everyone except jason thompson
- has clutch gene
- plays with heart, almost like reggie.
- can take other 4s off the dribble.

Nobody in the draft would help us upfront. Now free agency would have been different sign Ed Davis if not i don't know of it's legal to do a sign and trade with 2 free agents but Channing fry for IT would help.
Just to get rid of Landry and Williams and thereby solving the logjam at PF, I am even agreeable to get the low IQ McGee. Who needs a high IQ shot blocking big if he is going to play with the exceptionally high IQ Cousins?
McGee is low IQ, but he's got 3.15 blocks/game per 36 minutes last season.
Just make sure shot-blocking is all he does for the Kings though.

Only one problem - Omri is not a 4. We cannot keep trying to solve our roster problems by proposing that we use current players out of position.

Looks like Reggie Evans is our guy at the 4 and he's worth it, because sure, he can't really score - but he is a machine and a killer when it comes to rebounding and contesting shots, he is a beast on the defensive end and really: With Gay, Boogie, DC, and BenMC/Stauskas at the starting 5, well you kinda need a guy who's going to shy away from taking shots.
JT made improvments this summer and we saw it against BKN (the 2nd game), it's good cause he's going to play hard to get his spot now that Williams is nothing but a SF after a weird season where he played both.
And Landry... I love him and he is probably the most talented, but Malone has to take it easy on him with minutes this season so he'll stay available for the greater part of the season.

i almost have to side with Landry just because he is the best jump shooter out of the group and can space the floor for Cousins. None of the PF's offer enough defensively to warrant them starting next to Cousins.
I guess i am ok with JT as well, i just don't want to see him out there forcing one on one post moves when he should be the last scoring option in the lineup

Haha, well yeah man - Carl just can't start, not right now anyway.
He's a super-sub and he's a guy who gives everything on the court, but I don't think he'll be able to make it as a starter after last season.
Hopefully I'm wrong though...

i just can't agree with this. Evans is just such a non factor on offense that it will allow opposing PF's just just help on Cousins every time he has the ball with pretty much no consequence. And his defense is pretty overrated as well, IMO

Evans might actually be the most potent "offensive" PF we have at the moment unless Carl comes around. You double off of Reggie Evans you just automatically gave up an offensive rebound.
On the other hand you can pretty much freely shade off him as long as you keep yourself between him and the rim at all times.
In any case we started him next to Cuz for much of the back half of last season and not only did it not kill Cuz's production, but Cuz shot .538 in March and came stomping home in April kicking aside little model buildings and toy tanks to the tune of 26.9pts and 12.0reb.
Frankly my biggest concern is he might steal some of Cuz's rebounds, because put them together and we have likely the best rebounding frontline in basketball.

Or as Brick mentioned, Reggie could instantly position himself for an offensive rebound.

One of my other arguments for Reggie is this: Cuz likes him, and he's a tough veteran that everybody around the league keeps one eye on. I think it gives us, and Cuz, a little swagger in there rather than having the big guy not trusting his frontcourt partner. Reggie is too limited, and old, to be his Oakley, but that's the idea. You want somebody out there capable of making fierce plays worthy of a Cuz chest bump and watching his back while distracting opponents.

Casspi would be a victim on Law and Order SVU after having to play PF in the Western Conference in particular. I have said this a million times aside from Cousins currently the only other player that's going to impact the game in terms of wins and losses on this roster is Reggie Evans.

I beg to differ (about Omri).
Remember that last year, in Houston (WC, if I'm not mistaken
), he played mostly in the PF position, and did OK against the lions of the west. He actually did better as a PF than in the SF niche.
Moreover - Omri's best games were the ones against the most physical PFs in the league - Griffin, Randolph etc....
In the first game with LAC he pretty much dominated against BG (Unbelieveable, I agree) and had some 20 points or so.
I still remember how Casspi was even robbed by the refs in that game, when he finished a coast-to-coast FB on Griff with what should have been a great "and one", but got a ridiculous offensive call...
True that he regressed later in the season (I think it's due to fatigue, but also to playing more in the SF position).

I don't like any of our current options at PF, but I'd go with Reggie Evans if I have to pick one of them. We know he'll be solid in at least one facet of the game and execute the plays to the best of his ability. It seems inevitable that we're going to go with Jason again and he's going to frustrate to no end and eventually be benched at which point he will play just well enough just often enough to keep the embers of "maybe he'll put it all together this year and be a solid starting option" alive. I still think he's a solid option as a third big but I'd have no problem including him in a trade that nets us a legit starter instead.
Only way I'd trade JT is if we get a player of his capability in return, or better. I'd be upset if we traded him for someone like Terrence Jones... Our PF/C sucks.
