Well, Training Camp is just over a month away now. The roster is pretty much set for now.

We will be entering in a new Era of Kings with a very young core.

So, who will be the Kings Go-To Scorer this upcoming year?

Who will be their top scorer and potential future Alpha Scorer?

I'm going with De'Arron Fox as this year's top scorer.

I think he will take a big step and take the reigns of this team!

I say Buddy. Fox could become a prolific scorer, but it depends on improving his jump shot. Bogdan needs to be more agressive on offense.
Bagley may work into the role, but you cannot expect him to lead the team in scoring right out of the box.
Giles could have some big games.
Zbo will still be able to score especially against some opponents.

I think that if Joeger starts Buddy at SG, instead of bring him off the bench as the 6th man, Buddy would be the top scorer.

I'm just not sure that Joeger will insert Buddy in the starting line up, so I'm thinking it will be Fox as the Kings top scorer this year.

I went with Buddy. He came on so strong last year, and I just see him continuing on that trajectory. I'd put Bogs a close second, then Fox a close third.

The shooting percentages for everybody should go up if only because assists should be up, with the additions of Giles and Bjelica and more experience for Fox, Buddy and Bogs.

Fox is the go to at end of games because he can always get a clean look. But think bogs and hield and Bjelica 3pt shots are what the offense will be geared towards as the goal for desired outcome of a offensive possesion. That and wcs/bagley lob dunks

I misread the poll question after looking at the title of the thread. I think Fox will definitely be the alpha on the team this year, with maybe Giles evolving into that role by end of the year (fingers crossed). Buddy is most likely top scorer on the team this year, but he is not an Alpha personality.

I've got Hield as the top scorer and Giles as the alpha right out of the gate. I didn't get a hint of any sort of alpha mentality from any of the guys that played last year. It was even a big complaint from Joerger that the guys were just too nice. Giles will change that from game 1.

I don't think we'll have an alpha scorer. I think Fox could be one, but I don't think he's ready for that role yet. Buddy is another candidate, but I don't think he's good enough to be a go-to scorer. Bogdan doesn't have that type of potential. Bagley does, but he's still on the raw spectrum of shot creating. I still lol @ the person who tried to say that Bagley was a good shot creator.

If you're asking me about a leading scorer, I think it'll be Buddy.

What worries me about Bagley is that he was billed as a ready to contribute from day one scoring machine but in reality he is a complete project at this point. He's a basketball player whose never needed nor likely been asked to actually learn how to play basketball(has excelled on athleticism and effort to this point). Vlade essentially put all his chips in on Marvin Bagley the person moreso than the basketball player, because in terms of basketball players there were better ones on the board.

With Giles and Bagley (the hyper active young bigs) added to the frontline, I think Dave would give the green lights to the shooters to shoot from anywhere and especially from long distances because the ball bounces farther and young legs always has better chances to get far rebounds. That's how Capela's rebounds are padded in Houston.

This will put Buddy in a perfect place as the prime scorer for this team. Bjelica is also more like going to see a good increase in his PPG.

Dave could go with starters as:
WCS - With Bagley in, Willie can save his soul from giving up rebounds. He would work best with Bjelica by working out switching in man to man defense.
Bagley - Scrapper, rebounder, young legs and being a #2 would keep this kids motor high in any game.
Bjelica - Smart spacer and long range bomber.
Hield - Should have a breakout year
Fox - This is the season for Fox to cement that starting position for good.

Ideally the offense runs thru Fox, but your top-gun is Marvin Bagley III -- he's the guy who gets easy buckets.

Your top gun usually has a go to move. Buddy and Fox will always be ahead of Bagley, hell Giles has shown more offensive skills than Bagley. I think Giles will be the better scorer he’s shown hook shots and flashed his 3point range.

I voted for Buddy but find it sad for us as he may not be the a starter.
I would like to see Fox average in the mid teens with his assist rate above 8 and anymore than that would be great.
Giles and Bagley I expect that their first year at around 11 to 13 ppg with every 4 or 5 games to have a really productive night.

if i recall Bagley hasn't played a game yet. But somehow YOU have seen he has little offensive skills in 3 scrimmage games.

I watched him at Duke as well doesn’t mean he can’t improve. What skill has he shown you? And if we can’t critique his SL games then I don’t wanna hear Giles hype right cause he’s only played scrimmage games.

Bagley is a Complete Project per JCWKings. I will remember this comment.
