not a good time to pose this question after we just owned the spurs... half the votes will be for the spurs....

Just get there first- I know everyone is way way up after the awesome game tonight, and I am too. But as Rick Adelman would say- I am not worrying about who we will play until we have that litte "x" next to our name. One game at a time. Clips got a big win in Phoenix tonight, so don't think they are a push over just because we are 3-0 against them.

Go Kings!!!

For my own part, I'd be very, very happy it if y'all ended up playing the Sp*rs in the first round :D ...

EM2 - I want to take a moment and thank you. I saw you here last night and you would have had every right to comment about the comedy of errors our team put forth on your court. I think it's further proof that you're a class act around here that you didn't.

Thanks.

;)

Nuggets aren't even an option, so I said Suns. I feel we match up with them well and an Amare-less Suns team makes it even better. But now I would say Spurs over Dallas. But the playoffs are a whole different story and the Spurs have the experience. Dallas has yet to prove anything in the playoffs.

we seem to have difficulties with teams that like to get out and run the floor and take quick shots. so i dont wanna see the suns or the mavs in the 1st round. we're not the run and gun team we used to be. we've settled into a decent half court team. we are now 22-11 with ron artest giving up 93-94ppg.

I say Suns, they play no defense (except for maybe Marion) and they've been running out of gas lately. They're a lot like we were earlier this year...if they can't get a decent field goal percentage they're helpless.

I know we beat the pee out of the Spurs last night, but a playoff series against a championship team with a bench full of players who have historically killed us scares me to death.

Yep. I want the highest seed we can get and go in playing good ball. The rest will take care of itself.

The Spurs. My main reason is they will be the most difficult team to beat (imho) so why not play them first, with luck, get a win, and continue on. All roads go through them anyway. If we lose, well at least we can all start our summer early. Should we win, playing them first would be great preparation and a huge confidence boost to anyone we play afterward.

I think the Spurs are the best matchup for the Kings.

Duncan is hurting and with Wells and Artest we can compete on the wings. It's still a LONG shot but I think the games would be competetive.

Miller has to play consistently and actually defend in the paint if the Kings are going to have any chance. With the addition of Artest, and Wells missing substantial time and now being healthy I don't think this is the traditional cakewalk 1 v. 8 matchup that you normanlly see. The Kings actually have some GRIT.

It's just a matter of what team will show up.

Spurs are a different team in the playoffs. That's why they have 3 titles. I remember a couple of years ago, the Grizzles swept or won the season series with the Spurs 3-1 and had some pretty good victories during the regular season. Well, playoffs rolled around, and those same grizzles looked like pups in the playoffs versus the Spurs. The defending champion is always scary in the playoffs.

I think we looked better than normal versus the Spurs (they are horrible and I mean horrible on back to backs) and I think we looked much worse than we are versus the Mavs (have no clue). Mavs or the Spurs are both not ideal candidates, but if I had to go with 1, I'd still prefer the Mavs who have never really shown a 2nd level in the playoffs like the Spurs do have.

The Kings haven't played the Spurs in the playoffs, so we have no idea what they would match up like. However, I do like the Kings chances against the Spurs becuz they are not a great offensive team.

I mentioned it in another thread, but I'd just as soon meet the Spurs. I'd rather us go out or go on with a bang rather than a whimper. And a Spurs-Kings first round matchup would definitely be a bang.

yeah...kinda like getting shot in the back of the head execution style. ;)

The Suns are much more beatable than the Spurs and they are playing poorly. The Suns are only 7-8 in their last 15 games and are giving up more than 110 points a game in those 15 games. That's just atrocious defense.

Well, stranger things have happened.

Sorry, but I'm in prime April "Pollyana" mode. I BELIEVE!!!

;)

i would like to somehow play the lakers in the first round.

oh yeah i thought of something today. Maybe not this year but if the Clippers and the Lakers ever meet in the playoffs there would be no real home court advantage and that would be a disadvantage to the team that plays the winner because they wouldn't of had to travel for almost 2 weeks

We have had several very competitive games vs the spurs... Even in the first half of the season, when we sucked, we were giving them problems. But the reason I want to face the Spurs in the first round is Duncan's foot.

The Suns probably aren't a championship team, but I wouldn't be surprised if they swept us, they're just too dang slick. The Spurs is the elite team that we never got to face in the playoffs during the "special" years. I'd like to see that matchup.

I'd rather play the Nuggets, but seeing as that's nearly impossible, I'd rather play the Suns- we own Steve Nash (who loves to break down in the POs), and there's no Amare. After that, I'd actually rather play the Spurs. We match up better with them, as seen in all three games this season. The Mavs, I fear, would wax the floor with us in a 7-game series. The Spurs probably would, too, but let's give ourselves the best chance.
