Which King do you absolutely not want to see leave

1st Tier - Martin, Hawes, Thompson.

2nd Tier - Garcia

3rd Tier - Greene, Brown

Everybody else can pack their bags.

At the moment guy #1 would be Spencer -- too intriguing a mix of talent. (and no its certainly not because of my read on his personality, because I think he could have the makings of a considerable jerk if things go wrong -- ego, self-righteous, and opinionated? Hell, its me!).

As if none of us on this board are opinionated!:D

Hell, at least he has brain enough to be opinionated. That's a plus in my book. I've got no problem with the kid's personality, whatsoever. As long as he works hard, he'll be all right.

you had me at 6 blocked shots...

1a. Hawes
1b. Thompson
1c. Martin
1d. Greene
1e. Cisco

2. Brown...for that mid-air spin move last night.

3. Slamson.

then there's a sharp fall off into "please make this person leave" territory.

this time next year=

1. 2009's #1 draft pick

2a. Hawes...etc

1. Hawes - hopefully his knees will hold up.
2. Thompson - only below Hawes due to being a rookie and not enough consistent playing time to show all of his stuff.
3. Martin, Greene, Cisco, Brown (jury's still out on him - can he be consistent off the bench, can he run the team, can he get to the next level, etc.).
4. Sheldon Williams - showed his immaturity by pouting on court during garbage-time minutes and during his short 2-3 minute stints. But he can provide us with much needed toughhness as a 7th - 8th option off the bench. But question his desire and willingness to be a role player.
5. Beno Udriah - hopefully he can provide good off-the-bench spark as a back-up point guard. Maybe less minutes = less turnovers and being more careful with the ball.
4. Everyone else (hopefully good trade bait).

All could go. Sadly, you could randomly pick any 5 players + bench in the league and have a better all-around line up.

The coaching staff should go. Petrie should go. Hell at this point I say the Maloofs should fire themselves. Ive never seen so many empty seats. :(

I wouldn't protest a trade of any sort that got rid of Brad Miller, Shelden Williams, Bobby J, Mikki Moore, Beno, KT9, or Garcia. Maybe even Kmart. . I dont think any of those guys besides Brad, Kmart, and Garcia have any value on the trade market and were pretty much stuck with them. It is a sucky situation for sure.

The answer to this thread is Spencer Hawes.

He has the talent to be the type of player that can completely control the flow of a game with his passing ability, low post and high post skills. He hasn't put it all together yet and lacks that on-court savvy that all of the greats had, but if he can ever meld his talent together into one solid flowing package, he could be great.

Spencer Hawes, honestly with his age, potential, current skill set, height and age you just CAN NOT move him, EVER. I'd move Martin(due to positional play) before I moved Hawes.

I agree with that. Hawes could turn into a borderline sta", maybe make a few All-Star games and be a 2nd-tier center for years. That's a piece to hold onto!

If I am to pick only one, my pick would be Spencer Hawes. Hawes is the only one who has consistently shown his desire to WIN by exerting his best effort both offensively and more importantly defensively.

Nevermind that Hawes is still not the finished product we want him to be - YET. You seldom see such dudes at 7' 0" tall with talent and desire to be both dominantly good offensively and defensively. He could turn out to be our most valuable piece either at #4 or #5.

My second pick will be Martin. But I wouldn't blink an eye in trading Martin for the likes of a 2-dimensional player like Gerard Wallace. I just want my elite pieces having both offensive and defensive skills, and not the sissy type of players who only like to shoot and score. Martin in his 4th ( or 5th year ) haven't shown he has "IT".

Third would be a fully motivated Miller. Well, we all hate his whining. But I still believe Miller can still perform if fully motivated.

Hmmm, fourth maybe Thompson. But at 6' 11" power forward player who can only average less than 1 block a game? I am not too high on him. But of course, he's got talent, the right effort to improve, and is still young and can still be developed into a defensive player.

Last is Udrih. He is my poor man's version of the old version Bibby with a better defensive skills.

But I wouldn't let go of my other key players yet, if not in exchange for a superstar like Kobe, Howard, and Paul, or even the rookie Oden.

My key players would be:

#5 Miller ( 7' 0" ) or Hawes ( 7' 0" )
#4 Hawes ( 7' 0" ) or Thompson ( 6' 11" )
#3 Thompson ( 6' 11" ) or Greene ( 6' 11" )
#2 Martin ( 6' 7" )
#1 Udrih ( 6' 3" )

Plus key players coming off the bench will be :
Salmons and Garcia for #1, #2, and #3
Brown at #1

How many times have we seen these guys play healthy together?

Once, maybe twice, or the most three times.

I believe we have a playoff team, if not an elite team for the future. What we need is to be able to fast-track the development of our young players, find the right identity/chemistry of the team ASAP, and play the key players many times over and over again and we'll start winning.

How can we do these?

Maybe we should replace coach Theus.

Salmons and Garcia for #1, #2, and #3
Brown at #1

That team, when completely healthy, is still a lottery team. We need to keep rebuilding, which in my mind means trading Miller and hopefully one of either Martin/Garcia/Salmons.

Honestly, I'd like to hang on to Garcia. If I was me from last year, I'd shoot myself, but I'm starting to think we should throw Martin into a package that will bring a big time player here.

Garcia is cheap to employ and is the only clutch player we have right now. He plays 3 positions, and brings intensity anytime he sets foot on the floor.

Of course this team ( with all the good talents we have ) will remain a lottery team, especially if subjected over and over again to the unfortunate circumstances we had during the first 20 games of this season ( 5 game suspension of Miller and injuries of our #1 offensive player Martin, and 6th man player Garcia )

And coupled with the inconsistent and horrible/weird substitution pattern of the coaching staff preventing the fast-track development of the young players, we are really headed to being a perpetual lottery team. Our players are now just not motivated enough to play their BEST ( game after game ) and there is just no way that our team can build the right chemistry/identity/consistency we need to start winning games if we continue on this path.

I am not against trading anyone of my so-called "key players" for rebuilding, as long as we get maximum impact players like Howard, Kobe, Paul, or even just an Oden. If you're just getting another unproven mediocre undersized talent ( e.g. Noah or a mid 1st round pick big ) for Miller, then forget it.

Hawes is already better than Bynum was at age 19 and 20 so far in his young NBA career. Oden is going to be a great center too, but honestly, Hawes really has shown the most POTENTIAL to being the best combo of an offensive/defensive center of his age group. I really think he will turn out to be the 2nd or 3rd best player in his draft class when all is said and done.
