[drupal=78]When will it end?[/drupal]
At some point, you just have to get off the ride and get back to your life.
That's the feeling of a lot of Kings fans over the never-ending roller coaster existence they've had since Ron Artest came to town.
I like the intensity and passion of Ron Artest, #93 for the Sacramento Kings. I think his desire to win is incredible and he has some of the best defensive moves I've ever seen.
But...(And yes, with Ron Artest, there's always a boatload of buts)
• I resent his lack of control in his dealings with the media.
• I resent his seeming inability to just play the game and let his actions on the court speak for him.
• I resent that the focus is always on the circus sideshow that is his life.
The NBA is a business. He should be aware of this. If he misunderstood where he stood in regards to the future of the Kings, I have to wonder if he simply hasn't been paying attention.
There is another alternative. He did understand where he stood but didn't want to believe it or didn't want to accept it. Maybe he thought by blathering to ESPN and anyone else who would listen or read his frenetic text messages, somehow the future would be changed.
Most of us here were Kings fans before Ron Artest arrived and we'll be Kings fans long after he's gone from the center of attention to just another former NBA player.
This time of year, our board is usually full of discussion about the new draft pick(s), the summer league and even the upcoming Olympics when applicable. This year, however, it is - once again - all about Artest.
I'm tired of it. I'm moving on. I paid for my ticket, I got on the ride and it was entertaining ... for a while. Now it's old and stale and not much fun. I've gotten off the Artest merry-go-round and I'm waiting with baited breath to see the 2008-2009 Sacramento Kings. I have a feeling they're gonna be fun to watch.
You can talk about summer league, you can participate in or just follow along in a variety of tropical/desert island draft threads in the Lounge or you can follow the latest news from all around in our Kings News Links
It's still a great time to be a Kings fan and there's always something happening here at Kingsfans.com!
GO KINGS!!!
