[drupal=78]When will it end?[/drupal]

At some point, you just have to get off the ride and get back to your life.

That's the feeling of a lot of Kings fans over the never-ending roller coaster existence they've had since Ron Artest came to town.

I like the intensity and passion of Ron Artest, #93 for the Sacramento Kings. I think his desire to win is incredible and he has some of the best defensive moves I've ever seen.

But...(And yes, with Ron Artest, there's always a boatload of buts)

• I resent his lack of control in his dealings with the media.

• I resent his seeming inability to just play the game and let his actions on the court speak for him.

• I resent that the focus is always on the circus sideshow that is his life.

The NBA is a business. He should be aware of this. If he misunderstood where he stood in regards to the future of the Kings, I have to wonder if he simply hasn't been paying attention.

There is another alternative. He did understand where he stood but didn't want to believe it or didn't want to accept it. Maybe he thought by blathering to ESPN and anyone else who would listen or read his frenetic text messages, somehow the future would be changed.

Most of us here were Kings fans before Ron Artest arrived and we'll be Kings fans long after he's gone from the center of attention to just another former NBA player.

This time of year, our board is usually full of discussion about the new draft pick(s), the summer league and even the upcoming Olympics when applicable. This year, however, it is - once again - all about Artest.

I'm tired of it. I'm moving on. I paid for my ticket, I got on the ride and it was entertaining ... for a while. Now it's old and stale and not much fun. I've gotten off the Artest merry-go-round and I'm waiting with baited breath to see the 2008-2009 Sacramento Kings. I have a feeling they're gonna be fun to watch.

You can talk about summer league, you can participate in or just follow along in a variety of tropical/desert island draft threads in the Lounge or you can follow the latest news from all around in our Kings News Links

It's still a great time to be a Kings fan and there's always something happening here at Kingsfans.com!

GO KINGS!!!

I agree with every word of this blog. But, all offers the kings have recieved for Artest are sub-standard. And I want it to be over and done with, and agree it should be over and done with. But, i vote for it all to continue for as long as it has to. I think Theus needs to be more vocal about what he expects from Artest come training camp, if anything at all.

I'm definitely excited for the new season. We have lots of young guys with potential to put Sacramento close to, if not in, the top 8 of the western conference this year. It's going to be fun watching our draft picks evolve and grow to their potential.

I'd have to admit, all of this waiting for Petrie to finalize a deal and send Artest and hopefully KT out of here is a bit of a burden on Kings fans. So far, this organization has been able to show a good face in the media, and has been able to fix problems when needed for the most part. This whole Artest thing is starting to get a little out of control with shots coming from all sides of the organization.

I trust that Petrie will do what needs to be done, but I pray it comes sooner than later. I want to turn on KHTK at 4pm and listen to Grant talk about the development of our draft picks, not Artest/Maloofs throwing back and forth at each other. It's getting old.

it'll end when you quit being a fan. ((not directed to anyone specific)). why not stop making threads about artest? i dont wana read about anything dealing with artest unless it begins with "artest to TEAM HERE for PLAYER HERE". everyone is sick of it. he's the center of attention because people wont allow him to be an idiot all on his own. threads and columns are made about him rewarding his stupidity.

as far as his trade goes, if petrie doesnt decide to pull the trigger on a trade ron WILL have to come to training camp. for all i care he can rot on the bench. spend all 82 games next to kenny thomas worrying about where his next contract is coming from. worrying about what coach's are gona say about his "game shape". he's acting sprewell-ish and a smart GM is not going to entertain it.

Haha, I entertained that thought, but then we'd be paying him millions as well for nothing and we would get nothing in return. The whole point of signing him was to get something for him rather than letting him go. While it sounds good to just let him rot, it wouldn't help us either.

well 1st off, with the title "when will it end" you really have no idea what the thread is about. Trust me, i wouldnt read anything that had a title beginning with "ron strikes again"
Everyone, please start creating a thread called "ron strikes again".

we're well within our rights to let him rot on the bench and then trade him before the season is over. its too late for him to walk

The preview feature works really well, in most cases. ;)

So in an effort to stop people talking about Ron Artest, you create a blog entry about talking about Ron Artest...
Quoted for truth.

For as much as you want Artest to go away, and as sick of hearing and reading about him as you claim you are VF21, you seem to talk about him more than anyone else here. Hell, you even go to the Pacers board to talk about him.

What's the issue here? This is a Sacramento Kings website. Regardless of how people feel about Artest, he's currently the topic of conversation, and will continue to be so well after he's gone. Not talking about him isn't going to make him go away. "Gosh, nobody blogs about me anymore...I guess I should leave."

This is what he does. Stirs up controversy.

love how people sometimes feels that there is or isn't something that can be blogged about. a blog can be about anything; if you don't like it don't read it.

I believe that the initial blog was intended as a transition piece. From negative to positive. From the nonsense of Ron (not Bill) Artest, to the possibilities of the upcoming season. In other words, there are other things of interest to talk about other than Ron. Somehow, its hard to say that, without mentioning Ron. Its the curse of Ron.

let him stir it alone then. we are very annoyed with this. the next person to start a ron artest thread is going to get punched in the kisser. ;). its one thing to post trade proposals, etc, but we dont need to know about every time he shoots off. im sure some of you will still talk about him even after he's traded. we have more to worry about like who's replacing him, cap space, the young guys on the summer league roster, new arena, and those ridiculous purple road jerseys.

This all involves Ron Artest, well, except for the new arena. Yes, even the purple road jerseys.

Good catch.

:)

Don't you mean the curse of Bill?

I don't typically go into nicknames for players (unduly familiar and all, force of habit), but I kind of like the tag of Wild Bill that somebody else came up with earlier this week. Seems appropriate.

and yet when someone says Wild Bill --

this is who I think of.

Its an insult to Hickock:

FYI - for those who don't know, "Wild Bill" is synonymous with tattoos in the Sacramento area. His tattoo parlor in Roseville has been THE spot for Kings players to go for as long as I can remember. And Wild Bill himself has been a Kings Row fixture at Kings games for a very long time. I don't recall seeing him last season, but prior to that you could always pick him out of a crowd. About 6'6" tall, tattoos on every bit of visible skin and a Jason Williams jersey.

You can find out more about him at www.wild-bills.com AND there is a special section on the site devoted to the Kings.

:)

just had to say this.... people are making him a big deal. he will either be traded before the season or during the season. there is nothing else on that page to underline, highlight or circle. he has nothing to do with our forward progress. (except for who we can get for him). he is a very selfish individual. his attitude doesnt belong in professional sports. it belongs on jerry springer. and even on that show his insanity would be legendary.
