Based on the track record of the Kings' front office, I feel he'll be here for the rest of his career. Since this ownership has been here, every time we've had a potential high-priced free agent that played well for us the year before that we had to keep, we've signed him to a multi-year deal: CWebb, Bibby, DC, Brad Miller, etc. The MAloofs and Petrie will get the job done.

As the sign at Arco says: "In Petrie We Trust."

Uh, Brad was obtained in a S&T and is still on that contract, we haven't extended his contract or signed him as a free agent before.

Must resist urge to make incredibly dumb comment about Bonzi and two left feet... Must resist... Must resist...

I think his worth to the Kings will be established late in the signing period and what he is offered will depend on other moves made...or not made. I also think that a comparison of his numbers this year vs others is unfair given all of the time he was hurt, played, got hurt again and then played through (much as Ron did) nagging injuries, especially to his shooting hand. I think he'd have had a better year if his shooting hand had been sound. Irregardless, the toughness and matchup problems he brings gives him a dimension we hadn't seen here until he came. If he truly wishes this to be his last contract then offer him more years than dollars...he may get too slow to cover SG's but he'll always be able to play SF.

Does anyone know if Bonzi likes Hondas?

I've got an old civic that I haven't been driving too much. I'm not willing to actually give it to him, but he can drive it all he wants. No AC though, sometimes it's not too fun in the sun, but other than that it's just a sweet car, handles real nice. I think he'll enjoy driving it a lot if he tries it out.

Bonzi has always been hurt. He has played in and average of 69 games a year for his career. That needs to be factored in, and they have always been nagging injuries that have kept him to less than 100%. Now he is no Booby Jackson as far as the injuries go, but he is by no means a healthy player.
I just do not want to see us pay 10 mill a year for a non-franchise type player for a long term contract.

Actually that is not really true at all. Bonzi gets nicked up playing the style he does. Heck, so does Artest. But he's never had any major problem with injuries. Nothing chronic, nothing debilitating. No chronically aching knee. No oft reinjured ankle. Pretty much a low 70's guy in games. Won't give you 82, but he's not really injury prone.

If Ron is: 72, 76, 55, 69, 73, 7, 56
And Peja is: 74, 75, 71, 72, 81, 66, 71
And Bonzi is: 66, 75, 74, 75, 72, 69, 52

its all pretty much the same thing except for Bonzi's injury for us this year. One year does not make a trend though.

Actually more than half the games Bonzi missed before this season were suspensions and he played 66 games in his first season because he was a 10 mpg guy on a very deep team.

Oops...my bad...forgot he was a sign and trade and not just a straight-up trade who we signed after his first season with us.

Well, I think this poll shows what the percieved value of Bonzi Wells is, and this coming from the fans who feel he carried an entire team through a playoff series. Can I safely assume then, that anything over $9M per would precipitate S&T talk, or at least the desire there of?

Can someone tell me who is actually going to sign him for $9 mill? I don't see anyone with that much cap room putting that much money for a 4-6 year contract. I also don't see a sign and trade coming for that much money either. IMO the kings can have for for just above the mid-level.
