What do we do with all our SF's?

Hall of Famer
We now have Noc, Cisco, Donte, and Casspi all playing small forward. I really like the potential of both Donte and Casspi, but they both have a lot of growth ahead of them. So do we keep Noc or Cisco. The young guys have to play and IMO one of the vets has to go. Maybe we can package one of them with KT or Beno. Personally, I prefer Noc as our starting SF, and would like to see what we can get for Cisco. Maybe Cisco backs up Kevin but he is too much of a streaky shooter for me.

We are in full rebuild mode, and I don't want both Noc and Cisco preventing Greene and Casspi from developing. I would think Noc and Cisco are attractive to contending team s who need either a spark off the bench(Cisco), or someone who can stretch the defense and has played in a number of big games(Noc).

Well, I liked Greene in the few minutes he played as a PF. He was a really good weakside defender. As far as I'm concerned, I'd love to move both Noc and Cisco for space in order for someone like Josh Smith, but that's just me.

Our roster is actually pretty weird now because of all the versatility. I mean, a lot of our wing players are interchangeable and Evans can play the 2 spot as well.

2 are older, 2 are younger. Should be pretty clear what has to happen given our position.

The one problem with that is our two older SFs I think are the two closest things we have to veteran leaders on the team. Both have a little fight to them.

Sign Hedo......

......Then we would have the small forwards answer to Minny's All-point guard team.

Garcia can fill in at SG and play point-forward.

Noc has been played at the 4 on small lineups with JT or Hawes at center. Donte has too.

So, there is some flexibility if the lineups are right.

We obviously are very thin upfront (Hawes, JT, KT :(, Brockman, some other guy, probably Ike, we sign to fill up our roster).

While it's good that most of these guys are young, we really could use some bodies upfront. Hopefully, we can trade one of our SFs for some young prospect to play the 4/5 position.

Noc+Beno for Camby :D

So we trade one, preferably Nocioni since Garcias been through the ups and downs of this team and is our heart and soul most games.

Nocioni + Greene + Future 1st for Josh Smith

Tyreke Evans/Beno Udrih/Sergio Rodriquez/ Bobby Jackson?
Kevin Martin/Francisco Garcia/Bobby Jackson
Josh Smith/Omri Casspi
Jason Thompson/Jon Brockman
Spencer Hawes/ Ike Diogu

YEAH! :) :) :)

Give them all PG minutes.

Noc+Beno for Camby :D

Great idea, but Camby makes far less than you might think ($9.65M next year) so packaging those two wouldn't work, because the Clippers will be over the cap.

Honestly, if the Clippers want a backup PG (and they don't really have one) we could send them Beno alone, and we can take the extra salary back with our cap space.

I would be ecstatic to see Camby in purple next year.

Well you would just be renting Camby for a year, but you would be getting rid of salary. I would rather combine Noc with our salary cap space and work out a sign and trade for Hedo. Unfortuantely, that doesn't get rid of Beno.

Go ahead and make the deal..

Since GP already said he will go after 1 or 2 big men to fill up the roster, its clear the Garcia will be Martin's backup.

The good thing about these SFs that we have is that they can all play mulitple positions. Noc can play the 2 & 3. Same with Garcia.

Greene can play the 3 or the 4. He will find mins behind JT and Noc.

Casspi can play 4 positions as he claimed himself.:D He will find mins behind Noc and JT and sometimes even at SG.

Eventually, one or both of the vets will get traded. For now, it's a dog-fight for minutes. In some situations, I see Greene playing some of the power forward position, just like last year.

We need a back-up Center. I think moving Noc for a b/u center makes the most sense.

Nocioni for Nazr Mohammed? Drop a year off of Noc's salary and get a back-up bruiser behind Hawes to get 15-20 minutes a night

What would we need with a 30 year old mediocrity with a long contract?

Garcia plays behind martin, or the 3 if noc needs a blow, i really like Donte at the 4, thats an automatic mis match. If Donte can develop he has a chance to be something really special. Is Cassipi stayin or will he be here this year???

It's a year shorter than our 30 y/o mediocre SF. We have 1 7 footer and 3 other guys that play the SF position.

Mohammed can play 15-20 minutes a night and save us some money now and in the future.

He fills a need. It's not sexy, but I think it's realistic and useful.

Andres Nocioni for Chris Kaman straight up works with the salary cap rules. The Clippers have way too many bigs, and the Kings have way too many wings...The Kings could probably sweeten the deal with #9's expiring contract as necessary...Kaman is still only 27 and is a legit 7 footer and post scorer.

Kings New Line-up:

PG Tyreke Evans/Beno Udrih/Sergio Rodriguez
SG Kevin Martin/Francisco Garcia/Evans
SF Francisco Garcia/Dante Greene/Omri Casspi
PF Jason Thompson/Jon Brockman/Kenny Thomas
C Spencer Hawes/Chris Kaman

I am ok with that except for the PF depth Brockman i'd rather have Diogu

Much as our mediocre SF is just pretty medicore, I think he's at least a full > over Nazr, and maybe 2 >>s. He's a useful player that would pretty much be in the rotation for just about any team whereas Nazr at this point is just journeyman personified and has been barely getting off the bench.

Maybe if we were a 50 win team looking to patch a hole for contending purposes, but in our current situation I just don't see the need for that kind of move. We're obviously at the bottom of a total rebuild, and even if Nazr could add a win or two, which I have my doubts about, it would be from 31 to 33 rather than anything important. Noc has that declining contract, and he's got a good roleplayer's game and attitude for some good team. Actually think even wiht the extra year he'll be more moveable than Mohammed goign forward.

Nocioni is the odd man out here and I actually think he'll ve pretty easy to trade if thats the route we want to take .. a team like Boston may still be interested .. Magic have an open slot if they dont resign Hedo ( VC takes Lee's place ) .. maybe we can work out a S&T for Gortat.

I'd rather trade Beno + K9 for Kaman personally. That extra year on Beno's deal is KILLER.
Or better yet, Beno + Noc for Kaman + Davis + Collins.

Eeew! That'd be idea for us! - Referring to Gortat SnT.

It;s more about the CONTRACTS than the talent. I think that's where the value lies for us. The fact that he's a BIG is just gravy.
