What actor's body of work would you like to own?

I'll stand behind my choice of Jeff Bridges. It is Amazing the number of great films he ahs been in for a guy that is by most people considered only a mediocre actor. The short incompleet list:
Big Lebowski
Fisher King
White Squal
Arlington Road
Blown Away
Tucker
Rancho Delux
Cutter's Way
Seabiscut
The man has great range...
Jagged Edge was my fav of Bridges, ever see it? He was brilliant in that movie. I checked him out, he's played a lot of diverse roles--many I have never seen.

1. Turner and Hooch.
2. Joe Versus the Volcano.
3. Splash.
4. The Money Pit.
5. You've Got Mail.

...want me to keep going, or was the whole post sarcastic? :D
I'd definitely replace #3 with "Bachelor Party" and #5 with "The Bonfire Of The Vanities". Then I'd reserve space at the bottom to recognize "Bosom Buddies" for being a dumber TV show than "Small Wonder".

I remember seeing that in a double-header at the theater. The other movie? "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure". Yep.

All I remember about Bachelor Party was sneaking in to see it in the theater, and that some super-hottie with a ridiculous physique named...Monique something or the other, walks out from behind a curtain totally naked, and my young eyes just about popped out of my head. GREAT movie. :D

Yeah and to keep the believability going, Hanks' character turned her down. After that scene, Adrian Zmed brought a donkey to the party in the hopes that...rolleyes. Anyway, the donkey keeled over after eating a pile of uppers. And if that wasn't bad enough, yes, I said Adrian Zmed.

Check out the viewer comments on imdb.com. This is one of the more polarizing titles that I've come across. The reviewers either love it or despise it.

Matt Damon?

Bourne Identities
Good Will Hunting
Ocean's 11
Dogma
Saving Private Ryan
Rounders
Chasing Amy
The Rainmaker

Always good and hasn't really made a movie I didn't like...

Whoa, Jagged Edge and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure...together? ;)

That was just wrong on so many levels!

Salma Hayek

Oh, body "of work"...

Alfred Hitchcock. Hey, he appears on-screen in them, so it should count!

Don Cheadle
Morgan Freeman
Kevin Spacey
William H. Macy
These I agree 1000%

They always do amazing work! Can always count on them for a fabulous performance even if the movie stinks.

I'd agree with

kevin spacey,
mr macey
and the pretty-boys:
Mr. Depp (I especially loved jump-street)
Mr. Anniston

then I'd add in

character actors:
Mr Pink
Guido the Killer Pimp
Philip Seymour Hoffman

and leading men:
Edward Norton
John Cusack
jude law

(disclaimer, I don't think I've seen a non-g rated movie since 2001, so if any of the above actors have gone into the crapper since then, don't blame me)

oldsters:
Robert Mitchum (my all time favorite)
ingrid Bergman
Jack lemon
gregory peck
cary grant

(think its safe to assume that none of these guys have tarnished their reps since 2001 ;) )

. And ditto for a bohemian like Johnny Depp who is a great actor but so offbeat in his vehicle choices that he gets himself into a lot of strange and offputting movies with no appeal to me.
.

I think Depp has chosen great vehicles.

I'm willing to give a chance to ANY movie he gives his seal of approval to. seriously.

I have to agree about Matt Damon. I haven't seen him in a movie that I've hated. Not one. Even movies that got mixed reviews like Talented Mr Ripley and Legend of Bagger Vance, I didn't think were bad movies.

Honest and popular don't go hand in hand...

Why the hell can I quote the stupid song from Ishtar?? Because its frickin' funny, that's why. At least, it was when I was a kid.

I only saw that movie once, but those two lines have stuck with me forever.

Oh yeah, for the record, this thread is evil.

All day, and all night, I've been going over the entire works of assorted actors and actresses to determine who would make the cut.

These are the reasons my indecisive *** has been repeatedly banned from making any sort of favorites list.

Those are pretty representative of his growth as an actor. His intensity has always been present. It's interesting to watch how he's learned to focus and control it. You can see it in those films.
