What about a defensive minded OG that can still put up 15 to 20 ppg and 5 to 10 reb. How about Mr. Artest at OG sending Mobley to Indiana to replace the retiring Miller and throw in a 2nd rd draft pick or something if the money don't match up. Then we can send Kenny Thomas and the 1st round pick to Toronto for Chris Bosh Might have to give a little more such as Corlis or Daniels or something.

Bibby/Jackson/House
Artest/Mo/Jackson/Martin
Peja/Artest/Mo/Martin
Bosh/Songaila/Skinner
Miller/Skinner/Songalia/Ostertag

I know you are asking why would Toronto give up Bosh. Well its not like they are doing anything with him there they might as well try again with 2 first rounders and KT and Big Nasty
A defensive minded OG that can still put up 15-20 with 5-10 rebounds? Yeah sounds pretty good to me. Every team in the league would like that. Maybe 4 or 5 assists too to top it off. The hard part is actually making a deal that would bring such a player here.

The only reason Artest is even a possibility is because he's the headcase by which all other headcases are measured. And even then, Indiana will probably only trade him if they get someone significant in return. Mobley is a quality player, but he's not even on the same level as Artest. Which is obviously why you guys are willing to make the trade. You can't look at this like "what would we like to get for this guy", you have to consider what the other team wants too. That's like when I looked at all of the proposed Sacramento trades at the realgm website and everybody was figuring they could trade us their garbage for Peja just because of some perception that we're going to have to trade him. And Bosh is the only guy in Toronto that's really off limits. I doubt they'll trade him, he's their franchise player right now.

Nene and Kwame Brown are more reasonable possibilities. Neither has really put up star numbers, but they show potential. With all the booing he gets at home, I'd be shocked if Kwame resigns with Washington. And given his struggles, a MLE level salary sounds about right. As for Nene, Denver threw a whole ton of money at KMart to play alongside Camby and Anthony which seemingly pushes Nene into a bench role. On the other hand, his salary is very low for an established bigman coming off the bench, so I don't see why Denver would trade him. We'll have to wait until he's a free agent to have a shot at him most likely.

Anyway, I'd like to see us do one of the following:
-Sign a new starting SG with the MLE and trade for a starting PF/C to team with Miller.
-Spend the MLE on a PF/C and draft a SG with our first round pick.

Either way, I don't see Mobley on this team next year. Best-case scenario is we work a sign and trade to give us one more contract to bargain with for a big man or a SG.

I actually like the possiblity of getting Kwame Brown. He won't be demanding that much money, since his numbers aren't that good. Kind of reminds me of Jermaine O'Neal, who started his career slow, but developed into a dominant player. Kwame has lots of potential, but he will also attract a lot of attention from other teams. But I think he would not be a bad player to get.

You do have to question Kwame's heart and determination though. He has been given every opportunity to succeed in Washington, whereas with Jermaine he was burried on the bench of a very deep and good Portland team. Still Kwame is young, and if the price is right, he may be a good pick up.

Fair call.

I think Petrie is a smart man who will be looking for players that have certain attributes that will benefit the team. Any player that understands the concept of team play and is a decent passer will improve in Sacramento. Is Brown that player?

I think his upside is something that might make him attractive. He is young and has the upside but can he fulfill his potential if his attitude is not what it should be?
