SECRETS REVEALED - PEJA'S TRAINING REGIMEN

Okay, no reason to panic. No reason to race around the room with arms flailing. No reason to pound the walls until your fists are bloody. Yeah, yeah, Brad Miller is probably done for the season, but there's still hope. Yes, we said hope. Why, you ask?

Because Talking Points has learned that Peja Stojakovic is ready to explode and return to top form. We were secretly slipped Peja's highly confidential training regimen. And despite all reports and visual clues to the contrary, it seems he's been training fiercely and it's about to pay off.

So, here and now, we present the Peja Stojakovic Striving For Success Super Secret Daily Workout Regimen...

8 a.m.: Tea and crumpets while watching Wiggles with infant son. Lift son repeatedly or until exhaustion -- usually about 30 seconds.

9 a.m.: Shooting drills on backyard court. Stand outside 3-point line and have wife feed me with passes. Ask slightly overweight neighbor to apply defensive pressure. Make sure he doesn't stand too close for fear of re-injuring hamstring.

10 a.m.: Nap.

Noon: Arise from nap. Lunch on cucumber sandwiches and Diet Coke.

1 p.m.: Start aerobic routine by getting into official Kings leotard, switching on Debbie Austin DVD, and kicking it into high gear. Make sure room has fan and plenty of clean towels in case sweat becomes an issue.

1:15 p.m: Turn off DVD and check to see what's on the Oxygen Network.

3 p.m.: Call Vlade to ask for conditioning tips.

4 p.m.: Hit the weight room for some serious buffing with my "Body by Jake" Abs-Plus machine.

4:15 p.m: Afternoon nap.

6 p.m.: Delightful dinner of poached salmon and baby green beans.

7:30 p.m.: Work on agility with infant's nanny, who also happens to be a former ballet teacher at the local YWCA. Make sure she doesn't get too close for fear of re-injuring back.

8:30 p.m.: Chat with old buddy C-Webb about the art of rebounding without jumping.

9:30: Off to bed.

MIKE BIBBY - EXHAUSTED SUPERSTAR

Kings points guard Mike Bibby has been an absolute stud over the past month, taking the reigns of the team and single-handedly keeping them afloat in the West. Unfortunately, he's been playing huge minutes. That may hurt come playoff time, unless Bobby Jackson is around to spell him.

I'd like to blame coach Rick Adelman, but this time, there's basically no choice. The team is way better with him on the court.

NOTE TO POSTERS

The Talking Points Memo appears every Sunday, except on the odd occasion when a superstar forwards is traded. I'll respond to posts on Sunday and Monday. The rest of the week, I'll just post the the messages.

And please, folks, keep is short and sweet. Nobody wants to read junior high essays.

Okay, up until right now I have NEVER liked anything Ron Wenig has had to say. I must now revise that because I just spit coffee all over my keyboard - and monitor - and desk - over this piece.

Sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying.

GO KINGS!!!!!

Ron usually is the biggest jerk who is only writing his opinion which isn't worth much and never has anything even remotely worth reading. That said this article was quite funny...I just can't get the image of Peja in a leotard dancing around to Denise Austin out of my head...:D I was thoroughly amused until
I'd like to blame coach Rick Adelman
and then I remembered why I despise him...ah well. Still Funny though..;)

its funny cos its TRUE!!!! keep hounding peja till he realizes hes gotta keep his butt in the gym longer. remember in the series against the lakers when doug was out at arco at 10:30pm shooting around using a garbage can as a pick? and on inside stuff where summer sanders brother went to watch mike bibby shoot around and not leave till he made 1000 shots? thats what we like to see! those are people that want to win and and even if they arent priducing in games, you know they gave it all they had. with the money they get, why cant he stay out there? give me 100 bucks and id be out there 24/7.

Not sure lack of training is the problem with Peja. By all accounts he's in good shape, and that shot didn;t develop by magic. Post game aside (and yes, working on IMPROVING his game is one place where his training is woefully inadequate), I unfortunately think that the problem is toughness, competitiveness, fire, will, cahones or whatever you want to call it. And you don't get that from working out. In fact I kind of saw that as the real point of Wenig's snipes here -- basically calling Peja a girlie man.
