Welcome Omri Casspi

ISRAEL IS ON FIRE
casspi is the first israeli player which is playing at the NBA.
were so happy overhere and you can be sure his gonna give everything he got :-]

once again heres a nice vid of him - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDakqwBan54

Looks good... but that hanging on the rim stuff is gonna cost him/us in the NBA. :)

In any case, I think Omri Caspi is huge potential that can be realized in sacramento. His physical something that you can work on it

I am really excited about this pick. I really wanted Mullens at first but the more and more I check him out I really am glad for the pick.

Here goes my person A looks like person B thing again. Is it just me or does Omri Casspi look like Peter Petrelli from heroes?

another fan from Israel, it's funny because SK are not popular in israel, i am from israel and i like them since peja, webber, divac, bibby, christi and now alot of fans for the in Israel? it's good or not? i think yes now they will be more popular in israel... welcome omri

Welcome Omri! Is it for sure he's coming over this year, or is he under contract still(like Peja was for 2 seasons in Greece and we had to wait)?

contract

Hi guys, I am also from Israel. A celtics fan but now also a Kings fan (Hey, all of us probably really hate the Lakers).
Regarding Casspi's contract - as far he has one more year with a 500,000$ buyout.
I have been a Maccabi season ticket holder for 13 years and saw him a lot these past 2 years. Although lacking in fundamentals he plays with a lot of passion and never gives up. He is also not your prototypical european player because he is tough.

I think Greene's days are numbered.

Another SF?

Hmmmm.....Noc, Greene, Cisco...I think one of these guys is getting shipped out.

Unless Omri isnt coming over right away. Anyone know what the guy's game is like?

From what I've seen Omri is hard nosed and athletic, although somewhat of a bull in a china shop right now. I still would have liked Sam Young here. Ready to play now.
But good luck to him. I hope he turns out to be one of GP's diamonds in the rough.

Thanks! And welcome to Kingsfans.com It's very nice to have people from Israel finding our site.

And we're looking forward to meeting Omri.

Hey Kings fans...

I don't know if you saw this already. This is the emotional reaction of Omri Casspi and his family when he got drafted.

Just go here: http://www.maccabifans.co.il/News.Asp?ID=8317&y=2009 and play the video.

It's in hebrew, but still, i think you'll love this...

Thanks for the link. That was cool to see. The more I learn about this guy, the more excited I am about him coming to the team. Look forward to seeing him in the Kings uni.

And I'm loving all the new fans from Israel. Welcome to the board.

Hi Everyone - another new KINGS fan from Israel,

tell me, is the KINGS coach, the type of coach who says things like "Give the ball to Evans, and move out of the way" ?

I hope not - i hope he prefers team basketball and not individual basketball.

Westphal is a team coach and the Kings have always been about team and not individual.

Welcome to the board, BTW. We're very glad to have you with us.

:)

Thanks, i'm really looking forward to seeing the KINGS games this year - hopefully, casspi can contribute from his European experience - he's quite a potential. I have a feeling that if he can hack it in the NBA during his rookie season, he will get so much better - and be an important asset to any team within 3 years.

GOOD LUCK KINGS
GOOD LUCK CASSPI

he is more of a team basketball... and the kings have always been about team play rather than individual players dominating a game (though i wouldnt mind a player Dominating and taking a game over for us ;))

if hawes and thompson continue to grow and we run the princeton again to full effect... its going to be fun watching the kings run the princeton to perfection... before i watched them run it. it was like art

princeton offense

Casspi will be great if the kings run the princeton offense. He is all about moving without the ball, making backdoor cuts and finishing at the rim.
However, Evans is not exactly a class princeton offense point guard... do you think he will start right away or will udrih still start?
BTW, Udrih also played in Maccabi before going to the NBA and was mediocre.

hes a great defender right?
hahaha right now? his preety good but not more then it...
if you put him to be one 1 one with King J the game gonna end like 200 for the team against you, but its just because his a small guy near King J... but if hes going to work on his physical (and he said he will) hes gonna get better and better, after all he played at the highest lvls at Europe against some strong ex NBA players like "josh Childress" and did a great defence and we even won them thanks to him.. :D

His problem in defence is, that he is still having trouble spreading out his fouls, due to the amazing combination he has - energyass + aggressiveness + passion + raw talent. (if he'll learn to manage these qualitys - he'll be lethal around the paint - on both sides of the court.
Too often he'll accumilate 3 fouls in 5 minutes, (somtimes, on the offence)and then - HIT THE BENCH

I hope the KINGS coaching staff catch on to this problem and address it accordingly.
