Welcome Nique Clifford

The recent increase in Clifford's playing time with his corresponding success validates many who wanted this two months ago. Now we need to see him with the ball in his hands in crunch time instead of having washed Westbrook doing his thing. It is TOTALLY POINTLESS to have Westbrook play pg in crunch time (other than lins).

Clifford looks to be a steal with the 24th pick in the draft. Given the lower picks Perry had at his disposal, he had a great draft, imo. And remember, Perry had the guts to trade up to get Clifford. Perry has had a lot of missteps this year, but the draft ain't one of them.

Not good. He lost out on pt because of the coaching staff earlier this year and now it's due to injury. Hopefully, he's back in a week or so.
Got dang, I had to go back to the original quote and found it was from months ago. Thought the Kings were shutting him down cause he went for 30

Is Clifford really a better more skilled player than Colby Jones was?
That's a good comparison. Here is how the two compare, 2023-24 vs 2025-26, in key stats per 36 minutes (since both have come off the bench):

Jones : FG% 39.4% 3P% 9.1% RB 7.5 Assists 3.8 Steals 1.3 BK .9 Defensive Rating 103.3

Nique: FG% 39.1% 3P% 31.5% RB 5.2 Assists 2.8 Steals 1.1 BK .5 Defensive Rating 115.8

As you can see, Colby Jones was a dreadful three-point shooter, but on only 22 attempts. He was a very good defender, one of the leaders on that team, unlike Clifford. Otherwise, the stats are fairly similar.

The Kings have played 60 games. The guys who have appeared in the most games are ironman, DeMar DeRozan (60), Russell Westbrook (56), and Nique Clifford (56). This kid is getting a lot more run than I realized, averaging 21.9 minutes per game. Raynaud has appeared in 52 games. With Sabonis out most of the season, he has averaged 24 minutes per game.

I mean, Colby Jones only averaged 6 minutes a game that season while Nique Clifford is averaging 22. Jones’ stats are going to be inflated quite a bit vs Clifford’s.
