Welcome Nique Clifford

Saw this posted on twitter. This is how you build a team from the back end out. With guys that can do everything to some extent. Nobody was watching because of how negative things were but again, the last stretch of the season Carter was like a +39 and was the only player in the + that played real minutes in the play in before the game was over. Impact players are a good bet.

This is pretty insane.

Of course, Flagg outshines both of these guys when you dig into the raw numbers, but the talent/versatility combo here is impressive. Now, Carter and Clifford are both older, and it's fair to assume that at least some players not named Flagg would have been good enough to get to this level of talent/versatility had they stayed in college past their freshman year. But still, this is a great indicator that Carter and Clifford can both act as big-time glue guys. The beginnings of something could be here...

A few things that caught my attention watching an interview with Nique Clifford’s former college coach, Niko Medved, were:
  • In 2 years, he had him; Clifford never missed a workout, never missed a day of practice. He lives basketball.
  • During this period, Medved hardly ran plays for him, yet his numbers hit career highs, incl. points, rebounds, assists, etc., by instinctively playing the game on both ends of the floor.
  • Clifford’s one of the best human beings he’s ever been around. He is an even better person than a basketball player.
