The Sacramento Kings have selected Stanford's Maxime Raynaud with the No. 42 pick.

Fits a coveted mold at 7'1 with impressive shooting ability, which gives him a quicker path to a NBA role than some players who will be drafted before him. pic.twitter.com/rpQffTgGfV
My one-on-one interview with Stanford’s Maxime Raynaud is now live on YouTube.

We talk about his rise from little-known freshman to, in my opinion, the most skilled big in the 2025 NBA Draft.

that from my favourite draft evaluator. I was leaning my Australian PG but Rayynaud apparently shouldn’t have been available and looks good.View attachment 13628
Baja should be happy

Raynaud is another one of those older (22) talented players that should definitely be drafted highter than projected. It's possible that some team agrees and takes him somewhere between 25 and 30. His problem is that there are quite a few players that fit that description. The NIL money has caused players to stay in college longer, and as a result your seeing more older talented players in the draft. Raynaud fits that description.
Raynaud can do a little bit of everything. Shoot the three, score from midrange, and score at the basket. He has a deadly jump hook from 5 to 7 feet that he can shoot with either hand. It's basically unblockable. Despite being on the thin side, he plays a lot of bully ball. Adding about 10 Lb's of muscle would help his game. He's a very good rebounder who isn't afraid to mix it up under the basket. His form on his 3pt shot could use some tweeking, but I've seen much worse.
He has pretty good handles for a 7 footer, and often goes end to end after a rebound. Might not be advisable at the next level, but I love his aggression. That pretty much fits his whole game. Aggressive! He's also shown the ability to pass the ball and there's no reason he can't become a 3 to 4 assist a game player. While his wingspan isn't spectactular, his standing reach is outstanding. I doubt he'll ever be a prolific shotblocker, but he has the ability to defend under the basket and affect shots.
Someone asked if I would trade up to the bottom of the first round to get him? I'm not sure, but I definitely think about it. It would depend on what I'd have to give up.

I'm extremely bullish on Maxime Raynaud. I understand why he fell to pick #42 because of concerns about his defense. But he's just so skilled offensively. Can shoot it, attack closeouts, pass, and handle. Could end up one of the steals of the second round. A+ pick by the Kings. https://t.co/ZRmG9kMgwV pic.twitter.com/NNBKEmEVQ2

How many 7 footers are this skilled and can make plays like this? I have Maxime Raynaud at No. 26 on my Big Board 3.0, but now I feel like that's too low. pic.twitter.com/X3CWZTCJji

He is quite mobile for a 7 footer, I think he can be pretty good on the defensive end with his versatility. I'm very happy with this pick. And I think it's only good that a very skilled big man rookie gets to learn from one of the most skilled bigs ever in Domas every day in practice. Watching a few videos, he absolutely looks like he could play with Domas offensively. Defense seems to be the question with his upside

Teams look for a defensive stopper at Center and he is not that. But he is an interesting player. I’m intrigued by his shooting and lane agility time at the combine.
You have in clips on defense? Kid had really good combine lane agility times. He looks like he can flip his hips in those clips.
Not trying to be that person but Carmelo and KD did it as freshmen in college
