In other words, hopefully, by trade or FA signing? The return for Davion and Sasha and pick 45 is who we get from the next move…is that correct? Not being over the tax gives us an MLE twice as big as the one we had access to before.

Pretty much.In other words, hopefully, by trade or FA signing? The return for Davion and Sasha and pick 45 is who we get from the next move…is that correct?
This is a salary deal to me. Davion and Sasha together make about $11 million. McDaniels makes $3 million. The extra $8 million will be needed if they want to make a trade that takes on more salary

Just has to be the first move Monty has planned unless he plans on keeping Barnes and huerter
We used the BAE for Sasha last year so it’s we don’t have that. MLE is fully available thoughI believe this is also the first year where you can use the MLE and BAE in trades right?
And shows davion had no trade value
To be fair, pretty much everyone looked terrible in Toronto last season. Even the good players they wound up trading looked bad before looking great for their new teams.Jalen (no, not that one) McDaniels was a horror show in his year in Toronto. Unplayable. Hopefully we at least get Charlotte McDaniels.

Both Mitchell and Vezenkov had little value. The Sasha experiment was a swing and a miss. Will be interesting to see if he gets anything going in Toronto, but I wouldn't bet on it
League sources confirm that the Sacramento Kings have agreed to trade Sasha Vezenkov, Davion Mitchell, the 45th pick in today’s second round draft and Portland’s 2025 second round pick to Toronto for 6’9” forward Jalen McDaniels.

That’s basically a first. Gross.
wait we sent the Portland pick from next year out too?
something else definitely has to be on the verge of happening.
Maybe Monte was really high on the Blazers’ draft class? That’s basically a first. Gross.
shooters always have some level of value. Certainly not negative value which is where we are at currently with this trade.
I’m guessing Monte wants “optionality” in the MLE market but if he can’t sign his target(s) this is bad asset management.
as far as 45 goes, I don’t think there will be many good prospects left but at least one will slip through the cracks. We really need a developmental piece or two on the roster. Our cupboards are pretty bare in that regard.

He’s 6’5”/6’6” and played almost exclusively at the wing whenever he got minutes with the main team last season.Colby Jones is definitely still a good developing piece,... but isn't a longer wing
