Basically we have control over Mason, if we want it. We have to submit a "required tender" by September 6 in order to do that, which is typically a one-year minimum contract. He can sign that, or we can negotiate a better NBA deal. But if he signs it, then we can subsequently cut him and be the only team allowed to sign him to a two-way. However, I think at that point he would be a free agent and could sign a full-fledged NBA contract with another team.
